Good evening, thank you to Jupiterdonia for the hospitality, here are the final votes for BJSC 146 from Persephonia :jump:

 

It is our honour to give a surprisingly rare 18 to Séyetana for finally sending something less weeby sending an excellent post-punk adjacent melancholy banger, their first top marks from us in six and a half years since Nao Hiiragi in BJSC 81 and their 3rd gold from us to date (also including Goodbye Tomorrow from BJSC 75) in addition to 4 silvers and 1 bronze. 15 points go to another great high-energy electronic entry from FSR Rontvia - and hopefully a wider appealing one than another 27th placer - giving them their highest placement for us since Tina Guo got our 18 back in BJSC 93, and bringing their medal tally up to 3 golds, 2 silvers and 5 bronzes. Rounding out the medals is a song that was already a hit on Persephonian shores but still a great entry from N DNTN, serving some Aluna / PinkPantheress vibes and easily the best song we've heard to date from KUČKA. It's N DNTN's first medal from us since Doss got our 18 in BJSC 133 and brings them up to 5 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes. Beaverdonia are just short of the podium but still breathe new life into the psytrance formula with the elements of Celtic folk and throat singing, picking up 12 points which matches the highest we've ever given them in a final (previously achieved by atlantida project in BJSC 113). Pestolia complete the top 5 with 11 points for their Kate Bush esque tune which makes it 3 out of 4 finalists from them to date to land double figure pointage from us.

 

The biggest grower of the contest (not that we weren't already fans of it straight away) goes to Lotunia who get our 10 points with a gorgeous standout track coming out of Ghana (more African entries please following the quality of this and Ibibio Sound Machine). J-pop meets 90s alternative radio for Republic of Adonia in our 9 point slot, their highest for us since Ivorian Doll's 13 in BJSC 128. A banger from Dobago nets 8 points, just ahead of debut finalists Yobnedorica throwing us back to the 00s and nabbing 7 points from us on their first chance. Greenfroze complete the top 10, 6 points for another great leftfield Asian entry from them, Kenmochi Hidefumi bringing the manic energy on his production here that has been missing a bit from some of WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA's recent releases.

 

Completing our votes, Lookylion get a highest to date 5 points for their synthtastic track from the stub of Propaganda (surpassing the 4 points we gave to their debut entry from Babet in BJSC 128), 4 and 3 points go to a pair of European earworms from Land of DW and Jadakissnia respectively, Eastovka claim 2 points to finally get points from us for the first time after just missing out last contest, making it this time with a pretty off the wall Indonesian curiosity, and our mealworm point goes to the RÜFÜS DU SOL vibes from Aeroche.
