I guess it depends how far they were ahead. I heard somewhere they had sold 10x more than #3 on Friday (Brit/Elton sold 4k)

Sat mids are meaningless as they include next to no streaming data

Sorry, I meant downloads.

Yeah I think there’s practically no way they will hang on

Today on Spotify, B.O.T.A was #1 combined with 418k while Britney/Elton only done 185k

And I suspect that gap may widen as the week goes on

UK official had a few posts again dedicated to britney today.one of them asked fans if they think that she going to have no1 in 4 consecutive decades
Has any female solo artist had a #1 single in four different decades before?

Why are you talking about the possibility to get the #01 single ?

The song is #22 on Spotify UK. Afraid To Feel and B.O.T.A. are much more powerful than Elton and Britney's song.

There's no way Britney is going to catch the number #01 this week.

Ah just checked - only four acts have had #1s in four different decades - Cliff Richard (who’s had #1s in five different decades), Queen, Elvis Presley and Elton John.

Ask UK Official who has 2-3 posts for britney almost every day

I'm really surprised Madonna hasn't.

I'm really surprised Madonna hasn't.

She had several in each decade for the 80s, 90s and 00s but hasn't come close since, her highest in the 2010s was only #26.

Yeah Kylie came closer really than Madonna with All the Lovers in 2010 reaching #3

someone posted on Popjustice that Hold Me closer is at #3 on Todays Mids

but no source no link nada so...

I saw Embrace at Victorious festival on Sunday and they said that they're currently number two behind Muse in the albums.

The source is 100% reliable.

It will be nice to see both Britney and Elton to get another top 10 hit and the song is ok but it really doesn't sound like a #1, it's just the Cold Heart formula re-run and I don't think it works as well.

Hopefully BOTA should have it in the bag this week.
