Can't see that, no way Johnson would take any other Cabinet position. I wonder if it was Johnson offering Sunak a top job if he got the votes.

I think both probably have the numbers, depends if Mourdant drops out later today in return for a top job.

Saw some evil Tory mp on BBC news, slothering over Blojo and calling him a "great man who isn't good with TEDIOUS rules". Oh, like the ruels that PROTECT US AND DEMOCRACY FROM f***ING DICTATORSHIPS?! f*** ME!! f***ING DISGRQCE. MAKES ME SICK!! WHO VOTES FOR ABSOLUTE BAWBAG TWATS LIKE THAT?!?!?!?!
AND BBTORY, IT ISN'T A "BREXITEER" . IT'S A BREXITER. ONE E.ONE!!! STOP DOING THEIR CAMPAIGNING FOR THEM!!
I'm really struggling to understand how any Tory is even debating putting Boris back as Leader when so many of them resigned over his previous tenure. Yes, Liz was bad, but that doesn't mean we put the previous turd back in place in the hopes it'll work.
All those MPs now backing the Eton Mess, who just weeks ago were calling for his resignation are spineless ******g ****s without a shred of integrity or decency. And this is news to no one.
They’re so desperate to cling on to power it’s embarrassing. Any leader with actual morals would immediately call a General Election but this party cares more about staying in power than actually doing the job.

Looks like Johnson doesn't have the numbers..

Top trolling if the Tories have got him to cut his holiday short, only to come back and go: 'er, nah'.

Blojo lying?! I don't believe it!

And he’s pulled out!

First time for everything, I guess.

Glad Boris is gone, but it looks like he intends on trying to run at the 2024 election based on the statement he gave.

I imagine he was some way off the 100 threshold and wanted to save the embarrassment of it being announced. He really thought he'd have his Churchill moment didn't he? Now he can hopefully sod off.

Doesn’t he have to become Prime Minister to do that? Odd to pull out now then given (I know stranger things have happened recently) it’s unlikely there’ll be another leadership bid before the next election.

It’s quite clear he didn’t get all of the support he expected.

It depends on a number of factors, but I assume he thinks he can convince the incumbent to resign to allow a leadership race to choose who battles in the 2024 election. I think he expects the next prime minister to essentially just hold the party together until the next election.
