I do really like both of these and they're from quite different worlds so kind of difficult to compare but I voted for Snap! - I was expecting to see Shakespears Sister as a clear winner here so pleasantly surprised to see my vote has actually tied it up :o

Voted for ‘Stay’ and tied it up. I do like RIAD but ‘Stay’ is on another level for me.

So congratulations to Snap! who win the 1992 survivor. Following on from their 1990 #1 The Power, the German Eurodance band had 4 further top 10 hits before striking gold again in 1992 with this dance classic which racked up 6 straight weeks at the top spot. It was the second best selling single of 1992 behind only I Will Always You but prevails in this contest.

Which means our runners-up are Shakespears Sister, the duo formed of Siobhan Fahey (previously of Bananarama) and Marcella Detroit. The act had modest success prior to this with one sole top 10 single before Stay racked up 8 consecutive weeks at #1 in early 1992.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this survivor and we'll move immediately on to 1993!

oh no :/ bad bad result :o Stay should have won, it's on a league of its own a million times better than I'll Eat Your Cancer :/
I was expecting 'Stay' to sail ahead so nice to see an unexpected winner, though Snap is good too so not begrudging that winning.

Edited by Roba!

A deservedly close final and not surprised to see Snap win here, even though Stay is my personal fave of the two.
This was definitely the correct top 2 although I would've preferred it the other way around. TOTP repeats totally re-ignited my love for 'Stay' this year *.*
