Thoroughly enjoyed a good chunk of the music and chat that veered into pretty chaotic at times

Added The Carpenters, Enigma, Inspiral Carpets and Electronic to my playlist ^_^

* I played the wrong version of this by mistake, sung by Michael Damian instead of Jason Donovan. Didn't really care to expend the effort to fix that by the time I realised. The correct version is in the Spotify playlist at least (same for Enigma as dandy* will be pleased to know)

Other songs played:

The Christians - There You Go Again (opening song, second song from Colour)

Jamelia - Beware Of The Dog (for the memes)

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (from #2 album Violator)

Inspiral Carpets - This Is How It Feels (from #2 album Life)

Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring (from #2 album Behaviour)

Roxette - Fading Like A Flower (Every Time You Leave) (from #2 album Joyride)

Electronic - Getting Away With It (from (some versions of) #2 album Electronic)

U2 - One (from #2 album Achtung Baby)

Tears For Fears - Sowing The Seeds Of Love (from #2 album Tears Roll Down (Greatest Hits 82-92))

Fleetwood Mac - Songbird (RIP Christine McVie)

A fun and chaotic session this week for sure ~ highlight definitely being the cats in the 'Remember The Time' video tbh. Good discoveries this week from Carpenters, The Charlatans, Enigma, Chris Rea, Erasure and Enya + loved playing 'Starman' and 'Enter Sandman' (iconically sandwiched between Pavarotti and Joseph ) and 'Thorn In My Side' being the latest song that I knew quite well but never knew what it was called until now! Pet Shop Boys (again), Electronic (basically another PSB song in some ways) and Tears For Fears were good bonus discoveries as well.

Sounds like fun yesterday - I've started listening through the #1 album tracks on Spotify, don't think I can replicate the chaos though

Highlights from the songs I know: Starman, The Only One I Know, The Show Must Go On, All Together Now and Losing My Religion from the #1s, and Enjoy The Silence, Being Boring, Getting Away With It and One from the #2s. I wasn't 100% sure you'd end on Bruce as there's quite a turnover of #1s until the next #2, happy with that - I'm not familiar with the other tracks on Human Touch so that'll be something new to me next week.

A Stranglers song is essential for the RIP slot after the death of Jet Black :( I'd go for one of their early songs such as Peaches or (Get A) Grip (On Yourself).
Off to Gotheborg for the weekend, so wob¨t be able to make it this week

Living on the edge and just starting preparing the playlist for the week now again, #2 album list coming up in a bit :jump:

Took me a little longer than the last time I left it this late whoops, there was one greatest hits album in particular that took me a while to figure out which song to play from due to it containing so many top 2 hits and songs already played, wonder what that could be x

Done now though and it's an all time low of just 38 albums covered this week - we have a near 20 minute song again this week, been a while since the last one of those! - which takes us to July 1993. Notably this is the first of these sessions which doesn't span any full calendar years.

This week's #2 albums for extra last minute bonus suggestions (I'll wait until a little while into the session to sort out the bonuses - maybe during the 20 minute song  - so y'all have some time to think x):

1992

The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - The Black Crowes

Live at Wembley ‘86 - Queen

Change Everything - Del Amitri

Angel Dust - Faith No More

The One - Elton John

Growing Up in Public - Jimmy Nail

Laughing on Judgement Day - Thunder

Tourism - Roxette

III Sides to Every a story - Exteme

Us - Peter Gabriel

Erotica - Madonna

Greatest Hits - Gloria Estefan

1993

Take That and Party - Take That

Unplugged - Eric Clapton

Connected - Stereo MCs

So Close - Dina Carroll

Dusk - The The

Star - Belly

Conscience - The Beloved

Ten Summoner’s Tales - Sting

Amazing Things - Runrig

Taxi - Bryan Ferry

Get a Grip - Aerosmith

Bang - World Party

Unplugged and Seated - Rod Stewart

My sense is this is not as stacked a list as last week. But hey... there's Rod Stewart again :magic:

I know what the 20 minute song is (was actually expecting it to be longer than that but maybe it's a different version on the album). That'll be interesting lol.

Nominations:

Title track from Connected by Stereo MCs

Title track from Take That And Party (bit of a guilty pleasure )

Sweet Harmony- The Beloved

Thought I was gonna miss it but will be able o join for a while on the train back to Copenhagen

Del Amitri - Change Everything, fav song: Always the Last to Know

Stereo MCs - Connected, fav song: Step it Up

Dina Carroll - So Close, fav song: Don't be a stranger

I think I know what you thought it was and it's not that. It's something that's probably less interesting I'm afraid.

Ooo intriguing ;)

I’d also narrowly go for Step It Up ahead of Connected but happy with either.

Del Amitri - Always The Last To Know

Looks like Sweet Harmony’s a guaranteed play.
