Doesn't Ed have the signed cds too? With 150k daily on Spotify + 30k of singles it'll be top 3 easily - similar to The Joker single earlier.

 

Was the number confirmed somewhere as 30k? I’d be surprised if he managed to shift more than 10k for this CD single and even more surprised if they have manufactured 30k to sell this week. I suspect Ed will have a mid top ten debut on sales around 30k in total.

 

Also @Bjork, can an artist with no fanbase really shift so many CD singles reliably? Surely it’s fans buying these, especially as they are often on sale before a song has been heard, as in the case of Ed whose website stock sold out last week (I think they were still on HMV recently though). You really wouldn’t buy a CD of something you haven’t heard unless you’re a fan.

 

Also, he played to hundreds of thousands of people at Wembley alone this summer, let alone all his other stadium dates, and frankly how somebody with no fanbase can play five nights at Wembley I’m not sure.

Worth noting the Pokémon game the song is linked to won’t be out until near the end of November. If there is promo/marketing planned, it will be spread out with the last push then. Ed has done very well playing the long game for previous releases.

 

Really impressed Unholy is holding up so well. Figured most of it was the pre-release Tik Tok hype, but clearly has a lot of general support. Great for both artists even if it isn’t either’s finest output by far.

Normal get busy between now end November everyone try bring there new music out before December Christmas songs take over.
