Happy to see Meghan Trainor start off well - especially considering the current album bombs. The music video is getting some decent views for her as well. Maybe she could get some tiktok help and manage another hit again?

Insane that Taylor is at the level of popularity of Ed-Divide!

Folklore and Evermore held up very well during week 1 (and actually during the first month), so tehre's hope this one does the same

oh my at Taylor's numbers in the US

Anti Hero is #1 with more than 7 million streams (7,786,096)! The whole regular album above 4 million!

Yes, she broke the all time record that was held by Drake's Scorpion also and she did 88M only in the Us, higher than total of folklore's streams! And now she projected to do between 1-1.2M unites first week in the Us, first ever since they cancel the bundle option in the Us, the last to do it was... HER. Reputation.

Also funny, back then, ME! scored 7.9M first day WW and now that's what she did with AH in the US alone.

Yeah Taylor coming to lock out the top 3 this week it is. Lana perhaps getting a free top 3 hit out of it too. It's quite astonishing that she only ever had one #1 before this so good that she will finally be adding to that (and I can probably safely assume this is a better song than her other #1 :P) - also intrigued to see if she can be the one to finally at least come within touching distance of Ed's first week streaming sales record.

Poor Arctic Monkeys having what is otherwise an also very impressive album bomb just a little overshadowed... I imagine they'd have done even better if they had the week to themselves too. And even moreso Loyle Carner quietly posting a very solid first day showing there despite being doubly overshadowed!

I did wonder whether Taylor would challenge for no1 on the singles too but if it holds up today, she could well claim it with relative ease. Will be interesting to see how it holds up during the week. Hats off to her having such success this far into a career, it’s almost like the 1989 era the way it’s taken off.

The Lana duet is getting a lot of tiktoks (mainly shading Lana and her non existent parts)

The Adele number... is just... unreal. It's more unreal that the WHOLE album got 7.6M only a month after, as much as EOM was a hit and it was, it killed the era.

How so? 30 isn't a particularly streaming-friendly album. With only 12 tracks, 1 being 5 minutes long and 5 being 6 minutes+ long. What killed the era was the Vegas residency scandal. She went to the BRITs after that happened and performed "I Drink Wine" (instead of the actual single being promoted at the time "Oh My God"), then the era has been dead since (for ~8 months). Otherwise I assume there would've been a single pushed in late spring/early summer (likely "Can I Get It"), with a 4th being promoted aroudn now (likely "I Drink Wine").

At least the era seems like it'll pick up a little with "I Drink Wine" video release/push as a single likely, Grammy nominations coming out mid-November as well as her residency finally starting.

OMG Drake Ft. 21 Savage new ALBUM coming this FRIDAY. Poor Taylor, This will do some numbers. (I mean second week gone)

Yeah for Arctic Monkeys to have all their tracks in the top 50 despite the huge Taylor album bomb above them is very impressive.

I kind of hope the song with Lana on doesn't make the top 3 because by all accounts she's barely on it all so for that to be technically her second highest peaking hit after we already have to put up with Don't Call Me Angel being her highest peaking... urgh.

I've listened to Anti-Hero now and it's sounding pretty good on first listen so Taylor actually coming to have a #1 that isn't the cringey as f*ck LWYMMD is good news.

I wouldn't expect a Drake/21 Savage album to go to #1 in the UK anyway really unless it dropped on a quiet week (his collab mixtape with Future only got to #6, albeit coming out before his first #1 album tbf). I'd be more focused on the scenes of it potentially losing to Taylor's 2nd week in the US. Although Drake's #1 streak there was ended by 'Dark Lane Demo Tapes' narrowly losing out to some country album that was boosted by bundle sales for a tour that ended up being cancelled because of COVID  but then that was also a mixtape, his run of #1 studio albums is still intact, although not entirely clear yet if this release counts as a new studio album either.

That's some massive first day domination from the Taylor and AM albums!

Of course Michael Ball has had a #1 single more recently than Taylor :cheeseblock:

So has Lil Dicky (although this has hardly any relevance to the conversation since I don't think he's planning a surprise album drop)
