Did some digging, apparently Elvis and Bob Dylan have had number one albums across 5 decades (but non-consecutively) and the Rolling Stones 6 decades (also non-consecutively), and that only The Beatles can match Kylie for 5 consecutive decades (60s-‘00s).

 

So essentially, Kylie is very much in a league of her own 🥰

Where do we think this will chart next week? I think it’ll be in the 7-9 region.

 

Given "Daylight" will go onto ACR and Padam's streams are increasing quite a bit with new peaks on all streaming services today (looking forward to seeing how high it will be on spotify tomorrow), I think it could get to #7. Its youtube views will likely have increased as well, with the extended mix video adding onto the original (the extended music video has done ~130k+ views since yesterday and the original music video appears to be increasing a bit in daily views). Hopefully we'll see continued CD sales and perhaps they will add some more cassettes?

 

If its momentum continues on spotify I think it will be in with a good chance of going top 5 in the next few weeks or so potentially. It's slowly being moved up on HHUK each week now which is a big positive too. Fingers crossed it'll move up HHUK again on Monday when it's updated.

Great scouting! I’ve also checked everyone who has had a number 1 album in the 2020s, and everyone who has had 7 or more number one albums. I’m sure there are some other 80s artists who could join the list at a later date.

 

Did your digging uncover Paul Weller? Because he had number one albums across five consecutive decades (80s-20s) before Kylie did. The biggest difference being that they weren’t all solo albums. But I have checked his singles record, and it doesn’t match the criteria. I didn’t even check The Jam - but Style Council hit number 1 in the 80s, then Paul Weller 00s - 20s

If her single reaches Top 5, she would be the only female artist to have a top 5 hits across five decades. :cheeseblock:
