It's from the perspective of the UK. BMG is apparently winding down on Padam Padam now, with this Absolute remix being the last new release and "push", before they leave the song to do whatever else it's going to do.

Says who though? Genuinely interested

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

I am not sure my hun, I am puddled. I dont have a clue whats going on my hun.

Have I missed a post. Where has all this come from? I believe we will get a vinyl, even if its nearer to tension release week.

Does anyone know why there isnt a digital download of the normal version of ladam padam on Kylie.com huns?

Just Carol Honey ❤️

Here:

The new remix is the last push by the way, so download tomorrow and next week for the last big week.

The inference being that this comes from someone in the know!

Oh I wouldn't believe that until it comes from BMG or Kylie.

It's July 6th and Summer not even started yet.

Absolute remix climbing well in Australia, up to 33 and original up to 8

I don’t see why would they push it more in the UK though? Well maybe on week 9 to get three more weeks in the top-20 and a bit of extra exposure.

After that they really need to switch to single 2.

Why would you not continue to push when Radio stations are supporting it. It nearly peaked last Saturday on Spotify.

It's being mentioned as song of the summer and although it's not, it's still good publicity

I'd fume even more if her next single has a 7" release and Padam Padam never does!

It just seems weird to me that BMG have overlooked it - even if they didn't anticipate a hit with Padam Padam, why decide against a vinyl? They did 7" vinyl releases for Say Something, Magic and Real Groove (and even went to the bother of re-releasing Especially for You). The Disco era 7" singles were planned when the wait times for vinyl pressing was at its worst due to the pandemic, yet they still went to the effort, and they reaped the benefits with them all selling out... and they weren't even big hits!

BMG dropping the ball now when it's relatively easier to arrange vinyl pressings, and knowing for weeks that they've got a hit single on their hands... a 7" for Padam Padam in theory would have had a wider reach of purchasers than her most dedicated fans, they probably could have pressed more copies than they did for the previous singles. Even if they came out much later and it wasn't to help her get a new peak - surely still worthwhile as a big money maker?

Oh well, moan over x

------

Regarding Say Something 7", that was announced on 7th September 2020, 46 days after the single's release (just over 6 weeks). We're already beyond that point with Padam Padam, it's been 7 weeks since it was released. Magic 7" was announced on 25th September 2020, the day after the song was released. As mentioned by Liam, both were released in Disco's release week (6th November 2020).

Well, there is still 11 weeks until Tension is released, so I suppose they could have a change of heart... there's still time if they want to press them as an incentive to boost Tension i.e. include them in bundles. Not holding my breath though!

I agree with this, especially after its debut week they knew they had a hit on their hands as padam padam was getting headlines everywhere, they would have enough time to get the vinyl in production and be able to have it up for pre order, part of me thinks this will still come and that they might have one more attempt at a big push when the vinyl comes out if they go that route. On the other hand they may well think the cd is enough and fans have got their physical and they will use the vinyl route for the next single, who knows maybe the 2nd single will do well but now that padam padam is a proper hit i think they would be crazy not to push it that bit further.

I agree it is odd no red 7"vinyl for Padam Padam has surfaced. Even just the regular collectors would've snapped one up.

It’s via them  . I’ve shared a lot of stuff about the releases from Kylie over the last few years and you’re still telling me I’m not to be believed.

It doesn’t mean radios are going to stop playing it, there’s just not going to be an extras being thrown out. You don’t need to panic!

Why is everyone talking about the end of Padam Padam? Did I miss something??

It's only just going to US Radio and picking up all over Europe slowly.....

Can’t speak for others on this forum but When it comes to Kylie, all I really bother tracking and care about is the UK performance / UK promo and plans. If she does well in other parts of the world inc Oz, it’s just a bonus in my view!

Why would Kylie/BMG say that "we are not releasing more" nobody does that lol

It's a case of someone who works at BMG divulging to a friend that there's no plans for more remixes or physicals of Padam Padam. It's not an official statement from either Kylie or BMG.

It’s interesting that there is an EP on Amazon and Spotify but not iTunes.

Depends on the demographic... For The Gays™️ (it's notably all over the husband's tiktok [i don't usually fall into tiktok holes!] and it literally GOES OFF in any club I've heard it since release), I'd say it most certainly is song of the summer in a way that I've never seen before!

Certainly for the demographics I'm speaking of, despite it being super unlikely to be the most consumed track of the summer, Padam will be far more accurate in representing song of the summer than our current, long-running/mega-sales, #1 (which I honestly couldn't tell you if I've heard or not lol).
