My exact thoughts.

So it was on 555,230 as of 28th October.

In 2024 to that date it averaged around 3,700 a week so it could very well go platinum in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Tension the album must be teetering on the brink of Gold too (96,532 as of 28th oct)

Exciting!

Would be pretty cool if the certifications both happened in the same week!

I think there wont be much time between them getting the certifications.

It just randomly played on Spotify the other day and it sounds SO good! 1.5 yrs removed.

Padam Padam will be a song that will crop up here there and everywhere for years to come.

Is PP considered a Pride or a gay classic now? Like ymca, I will survive, vogue, BTDYK, or does it need more time?

^^ Probably too early for it to be a ‘classic’ - I think it’ll certainly stick around on the Gay/Pride scene for a few years but we’ll see if it has legs beyond that.

I felt like it was a lot more prevalent at Pride events last year than this year, I went to quite a few and only heard it a handful of times (compared to it being absolutely everywhere the year before).

 

But I guess it was very recent when they'd all happened last year.

Padam Padam could potentially be on the platinum list this coming Friday.

I'm not expecting it to happen that soon. But definitely within the first half of the year, maybe by Easter?

Hopefully sooner rather than later, but either way its great to see her get another platinum single.

Thought this week was going to be the one where we saw PP reach Platinum.

I regret to inform you that "Padam Padam" has not been certified Platinum this week.

I'm gonna say April, just in time for its 2nd anniversary.
