In fairness though, two weeks ago we had a download spree at the end of the week to try and get her top 10 and last week we had cassettes thrown in at the end (of which we had no idea how many), this week is a bit more clear-cut in that regard.

 

Hopefully it's a climber, regardless of whether it's 7 or 8!

That could be true 😅. And as a result, every week I’ve been positively delighted with her position 😁

 

Actually, looking back, this time last week I said: ‘But overall I feel Kylie has a very good chance of being 10, possibly even 9.’ I was correct there! I think we underestimated how many cassettes she’d sell.

 

I do hope I’m wrong and she reaches number 7, but at present I’m not sure where the extra sales would come from.

We could hope for a surprisingly large number of late physical shipments of Padam Padam, but then Switch Disco has physicals too, so for all we know they could suddenly add loads of late CD sales. Also Leigh-Anne's position doesn't take into account a possible big increase of late shipped physicals - but by my reckoning she'd need to add on 5.3k+ to push down Kylie to #9.

Loving the fact that I’m not the only person who estimates the final sales like this. Admittedly, when I do it, I generally round them to the nearest 50. I did this yesterday, but haven’t done it today yet. Maybe I should do it too before I go to bed.

My estimates are very similar - although slightly lower. The main difference for me is that I have Leigh-Anne above Loreen - but that could be optimistic for Leigh-Anne.

Although I think it will be very close between Hannah Laing and Kylie, every way I model it, Kylie stays ahead. In the worst case scenario, I had them neck and neck, until I realised that Hannah’s track only has one version on streaming platforms, and I hadn’t fully taken into consideration the Extended Mix of Padam Padam (which doesn’t affect the figures above, only the worst case scenario that I also looked at).

 

I have supported React for many weeks as i do love the song but this week im happy for it to take the lower position and let Kylie have the higher one!!

It’s been so nail biting but I do hope PP continues to climb on UK Spotify and this pause at 26 is just a short washroom break! . A top 5 UK hit would be so amazing!

PP has moved to #1 on the Australian Music ARIA chart - hopefully that means a climb on the main ARIA charts :cheer:

Including yesterday Padam Padam has spent 19 days at number 1 on the UK Itunes chart

Wow really happy with 19 in Australia that's a great jump this week. Good week for the minogues in their homeland. Really hope padam padam can go top 20 in ireland aswell today.
