As Far as Darren Hayes goes, he has no mananger, no big label backing. Almost everything is done through his website. The (small) promotion for the album has been arranged and done by him. Any chart placing is a major achievement. In a recent radio interview here in Australia he sees this Album and his Marriage to Richard Cullen as his two greatest achievements.

no, actually, Mary On A Cross stayed on SCR for 3 weeks after it passed the '3 year mark' of its release, but due to declining for 3 weeks it went onto acr. i presume the same will happen to chris brown, as soon as he declines for 3 consecutive weeks he'll be straight to acr. there was no label involvement for either song as both charted BEFORE the 3 year mark so there was no need to reset them as they were never on acr

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying. Though on the first of those weeks of decline (when Ghost climbed 33-28 officially) its combined sales increased by 128, but the market fell by more than 1%, so its streaming would have needed to fall by more than 100 SES to count as a decline, meaning an increase in pure sales of at least 230 at the same time. It only moved 72-70 on the Sales chart, so I thought that was highly unlikely - but if it did, that would make sense.

^Thats kinda unlikely as you said, pretty sure that week was not a decline and was moved to eternal ACR even if it was on DCL2 only cos it had reach the 3 year point
Well at least 'Mary On A Cross' went top 30 so you have to look on the Brightside (pun also intended)

i'm shocked at Charlie... he's literally playing a 2k venue next and sold it out (though i'm dubious about that) but hypothetically if 2k people can go and see him live should his sales not be higher

and congrats mon amour chris brown... he'll be top 5 by the end of the year!

But it’s 2k of people seeing him for £10 - I’ve been to loads of shows held by Banquet Records, not because I’m a particularly big fan but more because it’s a cheap way of seeing some good acts extremely locally.

I guess what I’m trying to say is Banquet shows sold for cheap don’t indicate a wider demand for an album or artist.

I guess also with no vinyl release yet his fans will be streaming it and 2/3/4k streams is nothing compared to 2k album sales

If someone told me Mimi Webb - Ghost of You was a Tate McRae song I would totally believe them they sound very similar.
