Even on SCR, I’m questioning whether they will realistically manage half the streams of Mariah/Wham! this year to compete.

 

Whatever it is they’re currently doing outside the top 200, Mariah is on at least four times as many daily streams currently.

It feels like the newer Christmas songs don't usually appear the year after and take a couple of years before they're built up to becoming proper Christmas staples. It's odd. Kinda hoping 'Christmas Tree Farm' by Taylor can take off soon. That deserves to be a Christmas staple.

Yeh 'Snowman' normally charts in the top 40 on xmas week and climbs slowly before that, one of the highest new xmas songs.

The same old Christmas songs aside this is also why I'm not as enthuastic about them now compared to a couple of years ago. Certainly needs a switch up in order of official chart placings.

I don't use Alexa or Prime Music so I've had a listen to 30 second clips of all of them and downloaded the Lizzo, Maisie Peters, and Sam Ryder tracks. I quite like the Amy Shark Coldplay cover but not enough to buy.

I think Lizzo will likely drop out by the end of the week as the Amazon songs always fade heavily from the mids as the rest of the market's data catches up but no doubt she'll still rise to a decent position some time in the next few weeks.

 

An extremely uninspiring list of names there as per although I'd be fine with seeing Sam Ryder getting another hit for free I guess lol ~

 

'Three Lions' is #23 on Apple now, not bad for a group stage match. It re-entered at #21 on Spotify on the day of our first group stage match in the last World Cup with 183.5k, interested to see where it shows up tomorrow.
