11 November 2002 saw 'Come Into My World' released across Europe as the fourth and final single from Kylie's multi-platinum 'Fever'. A last minute addition to the album, the song was produced and written by Rob Davis and Cathy Dennis as a sonic follow-up to 'Can't Get You Out of My Head'. It received a re-recorded remix for its single release, supposedly because Kylie was unhappy with the original vocal, and this version featured on post-2002 pressings of the album. A remix from electroclash duo Fischerspooner was also used to promote the single release. Commercially, 'Come Into My World' was another success, reaching #4 in Australia and #8 in the UK, as well as earning Kylie her first Grammy win following its nomination as Best Dance Recording. The music video, directed by French director Michel Gondry (known for his work with Bjork), shows Kylie walking round an intersection in Paris with a duplicate of her appearing after each lap; it was considered the 14th best music video of the 00s by Pitchfork and places among the Top 100 music videos of all-time by Rolling Stone.

20 years on, what are your thoughts and memories of 'Come Into My World'.

I agree it's not vintage kylie but its still very good, I absolutely loved its opening on the fever tour, the robotic entrance for it worked so well.

Another great single from ‘Fever’, not on the same level as the perfection of the previous three, but I think the right choice of fourth single (even if there may be one or two songs on the album I rate higher). You can definitely hear sonic similarities with ‘Head’, it has a similar baseline but with a bit more bounce and obviously there’s the “na na na” refrain that’s reminiscent of the “la la la” hook. Overall the tone is much softer and follows a traditional song structure which stops it sounding like a completely similar song.

I don’t really have a preference, but I know a lot of Kylie fans prefer the original vocal that was used on the 2001 pressing of the album. The single version that appears on later editions does sound more breathy and I think you can hear Cathy Dennis’ demo vocal a bit more. You can definitely hear Cathy on the Fischerspooner remix - “I need your love like night needs morning”. Got to be one of the best Kylie remixes for me! Love its use in the TOTP awards performance.

The video a great watch, I can remember my younger self being so intrigued by the duplicate Kylie’s that kept appearing. I think the concept really helps continue that futuristic theme that ran through all the videos. I was pleasantly surprised to see it mentioned in a few best music video lists though! I hadn’t realised it was quite as remembered and fondly thought of.

I am a fan of this ! Perfect show opener for the tour!! Great video.

I seem to recall it being mentioned, or maybe it was just assumed, that part of the reason they went for Come Into My World as fourth single was because of the reception it received from being the tour opener. I’m sure many thought the title track would have been a single (I think it did get a promo release in Australia, maybe to coincide with the Australian leg of the tour).

Ya that was said from what I remember as I think fever was originally lined up as 4th single and at the time i was disappointed fever wasn't picked.

Just listened to my original Fever CD for the first time in a very long time...CIMW sounds so different, I'm so used to the altered version.

Excellent track and the perfect final single that rounded off the era beautifully. I do admit that it took me a while to fully appreciate this gem, as at the time I wanted the title track to be the next single but looking back I'm so glad they opted for this as 'CIMW' carries the same sophisticated flow the previous 3 singles had. Anything coming after those mammoth 3 would have paled next to them.
