thats the thing... he does like to promote people even if theyre not big. look at maisie peters, ik shes under his record label but every single she put out this year he promoted at least on an insta story. so i wouldn't be surprised.

I quite enjoy the post-Xmas chart show as, yes it's dominated by Xmas songs, but a lot of them only go top 40 for that 1 week (see Stop The Cavalry last year) so it's their only chance of being played. And we sometimes get surprise outcomes like River being #1 a few years back.

 

Whereas with the charts being so slow these days a chart of the year isn't much different to most chart shows pre-December. There might be 1 or 2 songs from early in the year that you forget about but the rest is entirely predictable.

 

I agree it’s also fun hearing Xmas songs throughout the Xmas season instead of them stopping at midnight on Xmas day.

Yes Ed is often promoting artists albums & singles on his IG, especially for the UK, even ones that never end up charting, or if just an album track, not an official single.

In other news, Miss You and PSYCHO both look like theyve gone to acr. do what you want with that information, ik some will celebrate and some will be upset lol

I wanna see a campaign next year to get FONY to Xmas #1 next year. Two reasons, it’s never been #1 and also, it will please the people who are anti-LB
