Wow at Miley’s numbers! That 690k is on a Sunday when overall streams are about 15% down so there’ll surely be a further sizeable increase today. She’s got to be hot favourite for #1 now.

Hopefully Miley goes #1 this Friday but if not, she’ll definitely do it next Friday if those numbers remain high

Also Cat Burns-People pleaser and Lizzy McAlpine-Ceilings!!!

 

They also moved Miley up to track #3,

And also moved Tiesto and Joel/Tom quite high (finally)

Incredible Sunday numbers for Miley - although when a song has proper hype behind, the day doesn't really matter. Really glad that she is getting this success still in the 2020s.

Possibly, although it’s a long way off catching Somebody Else’s Spotify streams (currently at 628m). I can see About You picking up large amounts of streams for a while though.

'Somebody Else' is my fave song of theirs, I had no idea it was their most popular on that front! :o Assumed something like 'Chocolate' would be leading the pack by miles.

Miley overtaking Bizarrap globally already, that's a huge deficit overturned in a couple of days (and not like Bizarrap isn't still doing huge numbers). Could see her hitting or at least coming close to 1m+ daily on UK Spotify soon?

 

Lol at Bruno being up to #80 as well now - although tbf it's been top 200 for the last 15 days so it wasn't like Miley's song pulled it up from nothing. First time the song has been top 100 on Spotify since Kworb started tracking daily positions though!

 

I think it's a little questionable that Bruno isn't credited on the song tbh, in the current culture artists get writing credits for much more subtle 'inspiration' than this. Kind of a full circle moment for Bruno after 'Uptown Funk' was largely interpolating 'All Gold Everything' by Trinidad James.

 

Aside from that, Bizarrap still climbing and now on HH we love to see, would be great to see this make the top 40. And I'd noticed that Mac DeMarco song charting elsewhere so was only a matter of time before it showed up here too - as per usual with indie TikTok hits it's a bit over 3 years old so will probably need a reset to chart officially. I know he's pretty hyped in indie circles but I don't think I've been a big fan of anything I've heard from him so far.

'Chocolate' is their biggest hit - including their most streamed in the UK - as of October. 'Somebody Else' is/was only 3rd.

 

So yeah a long way to go for 'About You' but not impossible eventually if it maintains virality for a long time I suppose.

I know it’s not the only service, but it’s surprising to see ‘Chocolate’ ahead in streams when it’s around 300m behind the numbers for ‘Somebody Else’ on Spotify.
