January 12, 20233 yr Raye is also going to be sticking around the top end way longer which the same can't be said for Lewis so it'd make better sense for her to hold on for another week.
January 12, 20233 yr Lewis did drop a couple of new versions on iTunes and is continuing to do extremely well there, I think he's probably going to hold on. But indeed it's fun to have another week where the #1 is still in some doubt right up until the actual day (and good to see that RAYE's numbers are set to still be increasing!) <_< at Tory Lanez poking his unwelcome head in, I hoped we might have avoided that with it stalling at #41 last week and not being in the Monday update. Ah well. Bloody Mary keeps dropping while we expected a new peak this week.... It's quite a bit lower on Spotify than it was at the same stage last week so I don't think this should be a surprise! I wonder if a sped up remix of Bloody Mary will help it get a new peak. Probably but they'd need to release one first. They're taking their time if it's something they want to do. What is with this drop? She was 4th. 12 Gabrielle Aplin - Phosphorescent * The gap between #4 and #12 in the previous update won't have been very big. 2 days of streams added to its heavier streaming competition adds up quickly.
January 12, 20233 yr I find it extremely funny that Lewis didn't seem to be interested in #1 position when the song came out (and actually had better streams) but is now begging for people to download it when it's been out for several weeks  Edited January 12, 20233 yr by Sour Candy

If #1 was what he wanted he was smarter to wait until now.

He sold around 4500 CD when his streams were higher which were originally meant to be sent w/c December 9th. Edited January 12, 20233 yr by Chloe00x
January 12, 20233 yr If he had smart he would have send a check to HH to move the song higher, sure his label can do that, and then synchronize that with the CD singles, then he wouldn't have to beg and worry about Raye. His label clearly has the upper hand with Spotify... remember when he was nobody and he hadn't released any single but was casually placed as track #1 on NMF? or when he had a song at #5 on HH and one day it was switched to SYL out of the blue before anyone knew it was the next single and the big song it was gonna be? these are all label shennanigans that I'm surprised they're not using now

January 12, 20233 yr Do we have any idea how many sales 1-2-3-4-9 on iTunes will be bringing in for Lewis? The top version looks to have a big lead as well. Even so given how the market is I’d be surprised if that’s bringing in more than 2-3k per day, though that could still make the difference. Raye is likely to get a 5k extra dump from missing streams but I suppose the iTunes sales could cancel that out.
January 12, 20233 yr Had a JUMP SCARE on Twitter Lewis posted a super close-up photo of himself and said he has been told his single is SO CLOSE to being #1 this week :funky: Edited January 12, 20233 yr by Megan_

No, there's no way to tell with pop bars being broken now (I really hope you saying the top version "looks to have a big lead" isn't you continuing to treat LivePopBars as anything but a complete guess at best if not entirely randomised :kink:) He did do nearly 7k downloads on Friday to Sunday while only having 3 versions available which iirc topped out at being at 1+2+4, but no idea if the #1 and #2 versions will still be selling as much as they were at the start of the week.
January 12, 20233 yr I take it there no mids today? Guess we’ll need to wait until the chart reveal to see whether it’ll be Lewis or Raye at #1.
January 12, 20233 yr I take it there no mids today? Guess we’ll need to wait until the chart reveal to see whether it’ll be Lewis or Raye at #1. As per the first post: Breakdown of the week - Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative. - Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners. - Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday.
January 12, 20233 yr Honestly I expected Lewis to cruise to number 1 anyway when it was first released, I'm pleasantly surprised that wasn't the case. I find it kind of funny that it clearly hasn't done as well as he'd like so he's resorting to this, a Ladbaby-esque mask slip *.*
January 12, 20233 yr As per the first post: Thanks, yeah I saw that. Didn’t mean to sound like a complaint sorry.
January 12, 20233 yr I cannot understand why Miguel with "Sure thing" has not been reset. This would bring a new peak surely. Rules should be applied equally.
