January 15, 20232 yr If 'Pointless' does drop out of the top 10 that must be a first for a #1 that only had one week in the top 10 and that not being its debut week? Truly coming for a legendarily strange chart run. (I could see it just about clinging on for a second top 10 week though, would only take a modest streaming increase and a somewhat decent second week of pure sales).
January 15, 20232 yr Yes that would be a first. 3 Lions (24->1->97) and Ellie Goulding's River (11->1->28) are I think the only 1-week runs in the Top 10 at #1 which came after the debut week, but they also came after earlier Top 10 runs.
January 15, 20232 yr His label has finally sent some checks on Spotify, e's the cover on HH + the song has been moved into their top 10, so sure it will improve in streams massively this week, think this will guarantee he stays top 10. The Pointless song is also #4 now on Amazon, so the label has sure sent another big check to Alexa. And he is track #1 on the equivalent of HH on Apple and the song up to #8, so labeæ's doing their job with big checks everywhere
January 15, 20232 yr Lol I’m not sure the label would be that concerned about Pointless having a pretty chart run. Unless they were really pushing for the improved placing for last week and Spotify were slow on the uptake.

January 15, 20232 yr I highly doubt it's as simplistic a scenario as "sending a cheque" anyway but this has been explained and ignored before

Yes there's money involved, wow you really cracked the code with that one, like it's never been a thing throughout the music industry and before Spotify too but was utilised in a different way (IE performances, promo slots etc.).
