February 9, 20232 yr MvB-iPmmIQw Camp as tits With this and 'Free Yourself' she's really going full-throttle with the dancefloor anthems this era. "Shake it till the pearls come off" is a real statement of intent, similar to "this is my dancefloor I fought for" Edited February 9, 20232 yr by Jessie Where
February 9, 20232 yr Nah they can stay there. Or move to Trash Can, either is fine by me :D
February 9, 20232 yr "Pearls" is so good! Between this and "Free Yourself" I'm excited for the album!
February 9, 20232 yr I like it but if there is anything I have to criticize is she can tone down her vocal just a little bit for the chorus, feels like she yells a bit too much.
February 16, 20232 yr I like this but I don’t love it to the extent of the last album. Like with Free Yourself, it feels like a more forceful version of Jessie Disco and I think I’d probably prefer it toned down a little.
February 23, 20232 yr Jessie shared a spotify playlist that inspired the album: @1628818925566988289 Very disco inspired. Hoping she does it as well as Kylie's disco album. I'm sure she won't disappoint *_*
March 6, 20232 yr ^I'm surprised that she didn't put Wham!'s “Everything She Wants” on that playlist given that “Pearls” is more than inspired by it.. Despite really enjoying both “Pearls” and “Free Yourself”, neither quite match the highs of 'What's Your Pleasure?' for me (admittedly a v high bar)- however she appears to be enjoying throwing herself into the music she is putting out and embracing her true personality and influences now, which shows from the confidence and comfort she exudes performing these new tracks. I don't think I'm going to love anything this era quite as much as the previous one, but I'm still hoping that I may be proved wrong on that.
March 6, 20232 yr I loved 'Free Yourself' but I thought 'Pearls' was just ok, not sure what's not really clicking about it for me. Still looking forward to the album, a couple of the best songs on 'What's Your Pleasure?' were deep cuts, and actually thought the early singles from that were among its weaker tracks as well.
March 6, 20232 yr 'Pearls' isn't really sticking If you’re shaking it as instructed then they won’t be sticking, they’ll be falling off :funky:
March 6, 20232 yr I loved What's Your Pleasure but I really think she has taken the vocals up another notch. What a performance on Pearls, so commanding...
