What were the chances of me listening to my Shara Nelson just as she appears in the thread :o

Actually I’ve realised that the answer is probably statistically similar to the odds of someone actually having a Shara Nelson playlist

Some intriguing names here so far, from the unexpected (Susan Boyle, Gayle, Sandi Thom), to the overlooked (Eve) and me being the only voter for Agnes. Although I’m basing that on the great material she has also put out since Release Me that hasn’t touched the charts.

I went to school with Cher Lloyd.

A real shame though that Tones & I got a vote. Kyla has the record not Tones & I.

Shara Nelson has a great voice and sounded amazing in the Massive Attack songs but don't think I know any of her solo songs

A bit like Caron Wheeler who didn't match the success of the group she had some iconic songs with. 'Uptight' is a bit of an earworm mind.

Cher Lloyd! I've never been a fan but that Sirens track was excellent!

The whole album was so so good, surprisingly so! "Bind Your Love" remains a bop.

Pretty much this for me, 'Sirens' was actually a great track which deserved a top 40 place.

I have a Shara Nelson playlist! It only consists of her first five solo singles mind, but they are all brilliant, especially 'Inside Out'. Her voice is so unique and soulful, it's such a pity she didn't get much more success after that initial burst of chart hits.

Cher Lloyd had a couple of bops I guess but I don't know much by Ofra Haza.

I never realized both of the Eve / Gwen Stefani collabs peaked at #4!

I’ll have to give it a listen on Spotify then!

Was thinking wth was the second one, then realised it’s Rich Girl.

I once got pushed over by one of Cher Lloyd's friends in my first week at secondary school.

Hurrah for someone else having one!

Mine goes like this:

I Fell (So You Could Catch Me)

Nobody

Pain Revisited

Down That Road

Footprint

Unfinished Sympathy

Safe From Harm

Looking

One Goodbye In Ten

Inside Out

What Silence Knows

Keeping out the Cold / Segabeat

(Noticeable exclusion of Uptight I guess but I don't feel it aged particularly well compared to her others)

Kelly Osborne  her singing career was a bit of a misfire wasn't it? even though I kinda didn't mind her cover of Papa Don't Preach

Alesha Dixon had a few good tunes, the criminally under-rated 'Radio' being my absolute favourite

I don't have much to say about Dev or Yazz really - 'The Only Way Is Up' is a bit of a classic but my fave from her is her cover of 'How Long' with Aswad.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about 'I Fell', that's actually my favourite Shara Nelson song too, it's sublime!!

All of the top 40 hits that have DEV on them are bangers ngl. Don't think she's done much else of note besides those 4 songs though.
