The bowl cut, bell-bottoms, and pink-and-purple windbreaker all seem calculated to confuse. Yet the ample pleasures of his unusual brand of tongue-in-cheek pop are right there on the surface. Born Oliver Tree Nickell in Santa Cruz, California, in 1993, he got his start as Tree on Belgium’s Apollo Records—an early home to Aphex Twin—in 2013, pairing warbly sing-speaking with folktronica beats. Three years later, he reappeared as Oliver Tree, bringing emo energy to “When I’m Down,” a collaboration with pop-EDM producer Whethan, then returned in 2017 with “Welcome To LA,” which poked fun at the city’s superficial reputation. Over the next few years, he developed the Oliver Tree character in wry lyrics paired with irresistible electro-pop hooks. In his viral hit “Alien Boy,” he sings from the perspective of an extraterrestrial—a proud misfit and slyly unreliable narrator with an “eagle beak” and “ostrich feet”—but on the grunge-flavored “Hurt,” another standout from 2020’s Ugly is Beautiful, he makes a more heartfelt admission: “I’m sorry if I hurt you.” As an entertainer, he’s fully committed to the bit. In an interview with Apple Music, he claimed to have spent 27 months engineering a 20-foot-tall scooter that he rides using stilts. But he serves universal truths alongside his tall tales. Adopting a philosophical tone, he told Apple Music, “You’re never going to be truly happy if you can’t learn to accept yourself the way you are.” - Apple Music Robin Schulz In a matter of two short years, producer/DJ Robin Schulz rose to prominence as one of the definitive artists of the post-EDM boom of the 2010s. Born in Osnabrück, Germany, in 1987, Schulz cut his teeth on the local DJ circuit as a teenager, quickly landing his own club night as a 20-year-old tastemaker. Inspired by his breakout success behind the decks, he soon pivoted to production, releasing a handful of buzzing originals and remixes. But once he dropped his 2014 internationally chart-topping remix of "Waves" by Dutch singer/rapper Mr. Probz, he became next in line to claim the DJ throne. The song itself, a downtempo pop ballad turned into a chilled-out, sun-soaked house jam, helped birth and popularize tropical house, an EDM microgenre that ruled festival stages and charts around the world. Indeed, Schulz's feel-good take on dance music—bright, bouncy pop melodies and catchy vocals atop a deep house framework—defined the then-nascent sound. But where other producers were boxed in by the sonic trend, Schulz transcended it, expanding into pop territory. His remix-heavy 2014 debut album, Prayer, saw him reworking dance-friendly pop acts like Lykke Li and Coldplay, while 2015's Sugar featured collaborations with Akon and Moby. His third full-length, 2017's Uncovered, put Schulz’s production prowess on full display: Mixing lush melodies and powerful vocals into his singular blend of pop-meets-dance, the album fulfilled his crossover potential. Just look to "Shed a Light," alongside fellow dance-pop stars David Guetta and Cheat Codes, and "OK," featuring UK crooner James Blunt, and you'll know why Schulz remains two steps ahead on the global dance floor. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Oliver Tree 2021 33 Life Goes On -1- 2022 03 Miss You (Oliver Tree & Robin Schulz) -NAS- 2023 11 Voices (KSI feat. February 24, 20233 yr This is an example of shooting yourself in the foot with a midweek release for Lana unfortunately.
February 24, 20233 yr Bottom end chart more happen then top end chart Genuine question - why do you continue to listen religiously each week if you complain about it each week? I don't think I'd bother if it made me as unhappy as it seemingly makes you!
February 24, 20233 yr ewww at this climbing. was hoping its quickly leave the top 40 once on arc but its annoyingly hanging around. Personally, i'm blaming this for blocking lana because i hate it and its sh*t
February 24, 20233 yr Author There's been more movement at the bottom end of the chart than the top for *years* now too...! It's natural when the sales are closer together and not as high.
February 24, 20233 yr Good new/re entries so far, but not the one I really wanted (Lana) - maybe #43 for a new peak for her... I swear Miss You will get played every week until it finally goes.
February 24, 20233 yr I'm hoping Lana wasn't too close in the end as it'd be very frustrating if she was blocked by a Lewis song that's been around since September
February 24, 20233 yr This is an example of shooting yourself in the foot with a midweek release for Lana unfortunately. yeah it really is. to be honest though im not sure they care too much about it missing the uk top 40  or they wouldve done a friday release. shame though as it wouldve been so awesome for such a good song to make the top 40
February 24, 20233 yr Author 34 | 38 | 18th week Meghan Trainor Made You Look 2nd single from Takin' It Back Released: 21st October 2022 Label: Epic Records Chart Statistics NE (03/11/2022) | 28-14-8-4-3-2-7-12-23-66-5-7-10-12-31-37-38-34 Sales: 400k+ Certification: Gold Status: Accelerated Chart Ratio 01 Sales 04 Audio Streaming 03 Video Streaming Video gPCCYMeXin0 Biography Even before she dropped her debut single in 2014, Meghan Trainor already had it made. By that point, the 20-year-old Nantucket native had achieved the dream of many aspiring singer/songwriters: to infiltrate the inner sanctum of Nashville’s Music Row. But as it turns out, co-writing songs for country stars like Rascal Flatts and Hunter Hayes was the warm-up for what came next. Upon its release in the summer of 2014, Trainor’s first solo single, “All About That Bass,” swiftly became the most inescapable pop earworm of the year, thanks to a rump-shaking, retro-R&B sound that filled the void vacated by the late Amy Winehouse and a then-dormant Adele. But not only did the song transform Trainor into an instant, cross-generational pop star, its celebration of plus-size physiques made her a spokesmodel for body positivity at a time when there were few such role models in the entertainment industry. (And that motivational ethos would make her a natural choice to judge singing-competition shows like The Voice UK.) With the release of the full-length Title in 2015, Trainor became just the 13th woman in pop history to have both her first single and first album go to No. 1 on the Billboard charts, but on the follow-up, Thank You, she proved she was no mere throwback artist, as singles like “Me Too” and “No” updated her old-school aesthetic for modern-day dance floors. And on 2020’s Treat Myself, she further immersed herself in contemporary club sounds, applying her Aretha-sized sass to the synth-pumped thump of “No Excuses” and EDM-washed “Wave.” But even as her muse has drifted from Motown to Minaj (who turns up on the ASMR&B duet “Nice to Meet Ya”), Trainor’s self-help mission remains on course. “Every message that I give when I’m writing songs, it’s all to me,” she told Apple Music, where she also hosts Dirty Pop Radio. “I keep listening to these songs and I keep having to remind myself, ‘baby girl, love yourself.’” Trainor’s ongoing success lies in her ability to find new and creative ways to translate those personal affirmations into communal anthems. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2014 01 All About That Bass -1- MILLIONAIRE 2014 02 Lips Are Movin -2- 2015 20 Dear Future Husband -3- 2015 01 Marvin Gaye (Charlie Puth feat. They revealed that elastic falsetto, but didn’t quite hint at the sadness that would define the outrageous success to come. That arrived with 2014’s Grammy-winning In the Midnight Hour, an exquisite meditation on unrequited love, and its followup, the heartbreak-inspired The Thrill of It All. This second album saw Smith—by then an Oscar winner for 2015’s Bond theme “Writing’s on the Wall”—open up about instant fame and embrace their status as a gay role model, against a backdrop of stirring, gospel-infused balladry. It has always been clear that Smith’s power lies as much in that voice as in an unwavering bravery to put their innermost feelings—loneliness, confusion, desperation, desire—on full public view. By the run-up to album three, however, Smith was also ready to have a little more fun. The aching melancholy of love, loss, and yearning for someone to spend their days with was still present, but this time, it was all being mined for invigorating music to help dance the blues away. That third LP should have arrived in early 2020 in the form of To Die For, but, amid the global pandemic, it was delayed, reworked, and renamed with the more sensitive title Love Goes. The album, Smith said ahead of its release, allowed them to heal after their first true breakup. But it also heralded freedom. “I felt at one point that I was going to be trapped onstage wearing a suit and singing ballads for the rest of my life,” said Smith. “When I look back at Love Goes, it reminds of the courage it took. A lot of my life, probably because of a lot of internalized queerphobia, and queerphobia around me, I felt ashamed of myself and not being able to fully be myself through my music. Each time I make an album, I learn to like myself a little more. The more I make music, the closer to myself I feel.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2012 11 Latch (Disclosure feat. Where previous generations of rappers leveraged influence through the boardroom (JAY-Z: “I’m not a businessman/I’m a business, man”), Uzi represents a generation fluent in fashion and social media, not just a recording artist but a kind of creative director whose personality and sense of world-building comes through almost as loudly as the music. That they could turn a line as bleak as “Push me to the edge/All my friends are dead” (“XO TOUR Llif3”) into a sing-along only made them more vital—here was a person feeling the pain and packaging it in style. So, a rock star, maybe. But definitely not a rapper in the traditional sense. Born Symere Woods in North Philadelphia in 1994, Uzi first started rapping to one-up a classmate, quickly making the leap to national relevance through features with Young Thug and Migos while building a tight-knit collective of producers and collaborators, known as Working on Dying, at home. Like Thug, Uzi is a distinctive rapper (the stage name was given, not taken), but the key to their sound is melody, mixing post-trap rumble with the candied hooks of pop punk and neon surfaces of EDM for a style that splits the starkness of modern hip-hop into prismatic color. After the massive success of 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2, Uzi announced that they’d deleted all works in progress and were retiring, only to surface in 2020 with the almost mythically anticipated Eternal Atake, following the album about a week later with a deluxe edition that doubled its length. Guess they had to find something to do with the free time. Speaking to Apple Music in 2017, they described themself as an alien, but the reality is more interesting: They're of the earth, they're here, they're now. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2017 30 Bad And Boujee (Migos feat. February 24, 20233 yr Author 31 | 25 | 5th week Headie One Martin's Sofa 1st single from forthcoming studio album Released: 19th January 2023 Label: Relentless Records Chart Statistics NE (02/02/2023) | 9-12-18-25-31 Sales: 70k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 94 Sales 12 Audio Streaming 04 Video Streaming Video _cKPgHCciEA Biography Honing his skills under the #OFB banner, North London rapper Headie One soon became one of drill's most engaging figures, finding national success alongside RV on the back of iconic mixtape Drillers & Trappers. Moving into solo work during the late 2010s, the rapper found his biggest success to date with 2019 mixtape Music X Road, which landed at number five on the U.K. album charts. Rising from the remnants of North London gang Tottenham Mandem, rap collective Star Gang soon became popular on the North London rap scene; the most notable of its members are Tottenham's Headie One (born Irving Adjei) and RV. From day one, the duo's synergy on the mike was evident. Working under the Star Gang moniker through the early 2010s, the pair released early singles like "Youngers from Farm," shifting between more traditional U.K. rap and U.S.-inspired trap for early mixtapes Headz or Tails (Headie One, 2014) and Sticks & Stones (Headie One & RV, 2016). Moving fully into the U.K.'s drill scene, the pair released third mixtape Drillers & Trappers the following year. It was here that the pair truly made their mark: working with producers like MKThePlug and M1OnTheBeat, the duo quickly built a following with their relentless flows and artistic synergy. Marking their singles with the tag #OFB, the duo soon formed drill collective Original Farm Boys, an homage to the Broadwater Farm Estate where they grew up. Headie continued through the late 2010s with a series of individual releases. His second solo mixtape, The One (2018), produced some of his biggest hits to date, with "Golden Boot" and "Know Better" soon becoming drill staples. After closing out 2018 with third tape The One Two, Headie kicked off 2019 with the long-awaited sequel to Drillers & Trappers, enlisting RV's help for the 13-track set Drillers X Trappers II. Heralded by the Top Ten-charting single "18Hunna," the rapper's fourth tape, Music X Road, arrived later that year; with features including Skepta, Dave, and NAV, the release pushed Headie's brand of drill into new, inventive directions. A strong working relationship with producer Fred Again resulted in the late-2019 single "Charades" before the duo linked up in early 2020 for experimental mixtape GANG. Headie's debut studio album, EDNA, arrived in October 2020: comprising a wide portfolio of styles from trap to drill, the project offered a comprehensive account of Headie's life and career, with some of the rapper's most personal writing to date. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2018 84 Missing (Belly Squad feat.
