Oh I think I just listened to the album version of 'Regulate' too oops, should check out the other version too.

Radiohead's was, unsurprisingly, my favourite of the 5 songs that were new to me from this  although I do see why it's not done quite as well as 'No Surprises', don't think it has quite the same universal appeal.

Decent result there for 'Girls & Boys', ofc a major Britpop classic.

Can we please get rid of En Vogue soon x

and guess Radiohead got a lot of high votes from the indie kids but a lot of low scores too from the pure pop fans :/

very disappointed Street Spirit is out so soon :/ bad bad bad Buzzjack

Girls and Boys is also great, quintessential britpop

Girls & Boys is one of a few Blur songs I'd never really choose to listen to, just quite annoying and of all their big pop hits I prefer all the others. Street Spirit is fine... for Radiohead. Looking back at my votes they were the two songs I ranked just below The Saturdays :kink:

I enjoy Girls & Boys, don't think it's in the same league as their very best stuff (eg The Universal).but can understand why it's done well in a poll like this. Strong trio all in all, Street Spirit is incredible, Try Again pretty iconic.

That Regulate revelation is interesting. I listened to the album version and thought the chorus I "remembered" from when I was a kid must have actually been a different song. But no, it was Regulate all along!

I admire Girls & Boys but don’t love listening to it like The Universal.

I agree indie is always likely to be dragged down by some low scores in a BJ poll. Last year’s final was full of surprises (contrary to the winning title). In fact we’ve had indie winners two years in a row; looks like this time pop is levitating its way back to the top.

It will be interesting to see what does win out here. I think I'm expecting it to be one of Levitating (I see what you did there Julian), Who Knew, Around the World, Babylon or Porcelain because it feels like they should all have pretty cross over appeal.
Girls & Boys  such a tune.

From 2007, this was the fifth consecutive top 5 single for the Sheffield band. They have not had any more since then.

That's two of my big pointers our, Arctic Monkeys were on 39 points too! At this point non of my top-3 is in the contention, but #4 and #5 still are!
Before she started flopping? She had a #4 hit later the same year! And then 5 more top 5 hits within a year from 2006-2007!!

That's simply not true though  That second single scraped a week top 10 and then flopped.

And you're talking about Loose!! She flopped before and after Loose!

All 3 good ones today, but then everything here is good.

I guess Midnight Sky ought to be the strongest contender from the last decade given how well it does in ROTD. I love that but I’d quite like something a bit older to win like Little Lies or Babylon.
