I don’t understand the logic of releasing your debut single then going to America the next week?

What do you want her to do? She's already promoted heavily in the UK. If she wants a global hit, she has to promote in America, too.

What’s everyone expecting for week 2?

Streaming has not picked up yet and the deficit from physicals will be huge to overcome (It’s also dropped to #8 on iTunes).

Feels atm that we’re going to have an 11-36 kinda week :drama:

She’s not going to have a global hit. Little Mix had some hits across Europe but their last one outside of Heartbreak Anthem (which just charted in the top 40 in some places) was Woman Like Me 5 years ago. The song isn’t even a hit in the UK!

To be fair there’s not much she can do but what about stuff like This Morning, Loose Women, One Show, Live Lounge, maybe a signing in person, a performance at GAY, more radio interviews, YouTube covers or acoustic performance. Anything? Lol. A handful of interviews on the big radio stations isn’t that much promo.

If Don't Say Love drops off quickly I hope her label give her time to establish herself as a solo artist.

Tbf there is a fine line between promoting and looking a bit desperate and small time.

Going on Loose Women wont have any impact on streams (which is what she needs) but will sort of make her look a bit C-list.

I'm sure the label are slightly scratching their heads as to what to do next though. Plough on with this song and waste maybe more goodwill and exposure on something that isn't thus far clicking or showing signs of being a steady hit. Or move on to the next single asap and hope it sticks better.

This, they need to move fast with their next move (appreciate the song is only a week old but it doesn’t seem to be clicking and without physicals would have missed the Top 25).

its a good song but #11 puts her in Lisa Scott-Lee solo territory and not enough to launch a solo album from, hopefully this stabalises and is decent sized hit - the budget and promo has certainly been there.

Surprised she mimed.

Sounds like she basically added a bit over the track, but it looks like a small club where the sound system probably isn't the best so it might not be equipped to handle live performances. The stage looks like it was thrown together quickly.

To be fair a #11 back then is not the same as a #11 right now. Look at The Jonas Brothers, they don't trouble the top 20 with their singles but their albums chart well and they can tour too. I'm not saying Leigh is like The Jonas Brothers, but hope you get my point. (Basically she isn't quite Lisa Scott Lee territory, yet).

I know its only been a week so I'm hopeful this might still pick up, but I'm losing confidence as it is slowly falling on streaming.

Sadly there is just very little demand for pop music anymore unless you are Harry Styles or Taylor Swift. Although I still think all 3 could get good album sales so maybe they should focus on that rather than singles.

Sorry but I do think this is a bit of a disaster really (and I say this as someone who bought two physicals and streamed - a fair bit.)

This is definitely not what they (team Leigh-Anne) were expecting for sure.

I said a while back I think all three of them had left it too long and I can’t imagine Jade or Pez doing much better really either.

I agree with this, there is something to be said for striking while the iron is hot! I always thought Emma would have performed better with her first album had she released in 99 like Geri and Melanie C did. I think it’s the same here.
