April 28, 20232 yr Nice to see a big clear out this week and very very happy to see Skrillex and Porter Robinson on there - an amazing song that I really wasn’t expecting to see on the playlist! Also good to see Labrinth on the playlist again - must have been years since he was last on here? Also good to see a new Wet Leg single from their album and Beyoncé too. Hopefully David Guetta (and co), Ice Spice and Kim Petras get added next week and it would be nice to see Rita Ora and Maisie Peters too although I’m not as confident about them being added.
April 28, 20232 yr Romy added <3 that's the best add this week Good they replace Die for You with the new Weeknd one
April 28, 20232 yr Author Also good to see Labrinth on the playlist again - must have been years since he was last on here? The last time he was playlisted as lead artist was 2014! Although they did playlist a couple of tracks in 2018 from that LSD project (Labrinth, Sia & Diplo).
April 28, 20232 yr They really like the new Rudimental don’t they? Tune of the Weekend on release and added to the playlist a week later. Not unusual if the song looks like being big but this certainly doesn’t. A shame salute is gone already but also not surprised. I’m expecting Mae Muller to be A-Listed next week to give her the best exposure in the week prior to Eurovision.
April 28, 20232 yr Mahalia!! So glad they're still supporting her, Terms & Conditions is her best in a while.
April 28, 20232 yr Justice for Virgo's Groove. Easily the best song off on Renaissance for me. The Weeknd's continued relevancy with another auto A-list. Great add for Skrillex too. Seriously, why is 'Lets do It Again' climbing the playlist after being released one year ago, I know Jamie's headlining the Friday of Big Weekend but i feels a little old.
April 28, 20232 yr I’m hoping Mae Muller isn’t removed before Eurovision and I also hoped that they’d remove Mae Stephens and add Jess Glynne
April 28, 20232 yr Yay for Romy! Good single choice from Wet Leg, and rather odd single choice from Beyoncé.
April 28, 20232 yr Still Here *.* since these neanderthals refused to play anything from Nurture this is Porter's first time on the playlist since Virtual Self in 2018, or under his own name it'd be Lionhearted in 2014 :magic:
April 28, 20232 yr that is so random for Beyonce. she has no single promoted in US/global right now. then suddenly 6 minutes song. lol Edited April 28, 20232 yr by Imbruglia
April 28, 20232 yr I presume Radio 1 will probably make their own "chopped down" version if one doesn't exist?
April 28, 20232 yr Okay...let's see if we can do it second time lucky for Freya with "I Feel Love". Another perfect Radio1 song...
April 28, 20232 yr Ehh, 'VIRGO'S GROOVE' is another one of my least faves from the Beyoncé album... I do get the appeal a bit more than 'CUFF IT' at least but I find it to be fairly tedious and not really justifying being 6 minutes long, maybe would actually appreciate a slightly shorter edit. Justice for 'CHURCH GIRL' / 'AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM' tho. Yesss at 'Being In Love' FINALLY being pushed (this era is truly being milked for all its worth, but at least it's not a re-release this time lmao), although my fave of the additions I've heard is definitely the Skrillex one which was an easy highlight of his album(s), love to see Porter Robinson's 'Language' back on the playlist in some capacity :cheeseblock: (not clear if it's actually a sample but it is surely at least an homage, and Porter is credited on the song so ~) Yay for Post Malone and Jamie xx rising as well. Romy joining the latter, just need an Oliver Sim song to somehow be added now :magic:
April 28, 20232 yr I didn’t realise Virgo’s Groove was being promoted as a single Most likely being pushed to help album sales for the UK leg of her tour next month.
April 28, 20232 yr They really like the new Rudimental don’t they? Tune of the Weekend on release and added to the playlist a week later. Not unusual if the song looks like being big but this certainly doesn’t. The Rudimental song is top 15 on Apple Music! (Of course it might just be a case of a dance song that's getting brief heavy support on Apple playlists and then amounts to nothing else, but still)
April 28, 20232 yr The Rudimental song is top 15 on Apple Music! (Of course it might just be a case of a dance song that's getting brief heavy support on Apple playlists and then amounts to nothing else, but still) Ah thanks, I didn’t realise it was doing well on Apple. Even so, I’m surprised it’s warranted this level of early support. It’s not like the song is anything special either.
