This is gonna screw up the continuity of the playlists on my spreadsheet, I'll need to figure out how to enter this week on it!

Best thing to do is not bother logging them and roll last weeks playlist over to the next time they update the playlist. It is strange and being a part of public funded organisation, I'm not sure they should exclude artists from being playlisted because they are not playing the Big Weekend. :(

So they playlisted Virgo’s Groove, bumped it from C-List to A-List, only to take it off (albeit temporarily) the week the tour is actually in Britain?

can't believe they went to this length to avoid playlisting eurovision songs smh

Eurovision is much too cool for them to want to be associated with it :P

Yeah I think you're right, I'm just gonna treat it in the same way as the playlist being frozen at Christmas.

Horrible playlist, most of the songs in there are just being playlisted because they think the artists who perform them are “cool”…

I can’t believe they totally avoided Eurovision just because Loreen is 40 and doesn’t fit their criteria…

And also ignoring Kylie’s new banger “Padam Padam” just further proves their ageism…

None of this is true, the playlist is only by artists who are playing at the big weekend!

I wish they'd playlisted Overcome by Nothing But Thieves instead.

I wonder if they will use this to just drop a bunch of songs off the playlist when they go back to normal and keep some of these instead.

Pleased we get to hear more of LF System - as Dancing Shoes is a banger - and also It's Euphoric by Georgia.

But they've not totally avoided Eurovision. They've playlisted Mae Muller and some of Sam Ryder's tracks have been supported over the past year including 'Spaceman'.

Maneskin's winning entry was playlisted the year they won Eurovision.

Also, I don't think Tattoo sounds Radio 1 friendly either way.

I don't think R1 playlisted Måneskin's winning song 'ZITTI E BUONI' but they did playlist their English language follow-up 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE'

For what it's worth, they didn't playlist Loreen when she was in her late 20s either.

I can't tell if people are actually being serious thinking this playlist decision has anything to do with Eurovision or "ageism".

I think it makes sense that they're dropping the pretense of caring about anything other than the Big Weekend during this week.

From what I’ve heard and by looking through the BBC Sounds track listings, here are the songs that I think are getting A-list plays this week:

The 1975 - Oh Caroline

Arlo Parks - Blades

Becky Hill & Lewis Thompson - Side Effects

Jamie xx - LET'S DO IT AGAIN

Jess Glynne - Silly Me

Jonas Brothers - Waffle House

Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best

Tom Grennan - How Does It Feel

Wet Leg - Being In Love

That makes 14 songs, rather than the usual 15, so there may be one more - Anne-Marie most likely.

I think the rest of the tracks are effectively on the B-list but I’m not entirely sure.
