Posted June 5, 20231 yr Is there a way to have it so I don't see their posts, like at ALL? For the first time I've had to use this function and honestly, I'd rather just unblock them coz that whole: "You have chosen to ignore all posts from: *insert user name*. · View this post · Un-ignore *insert user name*" Is honestly even more annoying than reading the actual posts?
June 6, 20231 yr Honestly same! I'd use it much more often if the person's posts just weren't there at all ugh.
June 6, 20231 yr I didn't know you could do this until I saw this post yesterday. But as you say, seeing the You have chosen to ignore all posts from: bit is almost as annoying as seeing the person's post and you still have to scroll past it. If anything, by being in bold it only highlights they have posted yet again for about the millionth time in the last five minutes!!
June 6, 20231 yr Worse still, there's a certain member I've had on block these past few months and still seeing what they spout whenever someone quotes it is jarring and renders the function almost pointless. Is there not a way to functionally prevent even that from happening?
June 6, 20231 yr I may be wrong so hold off until Joseph or Iz confirm but, from what I’ve seen in the site functions, sadly my gut feeling is that I don’t think there is any other option for this.
June 6, 20231 yr I used this function once or twice in my early days on the site, but found it irritating so decided to not bother with it.

June 7, 20231 yr As to why, it's because it's a built-in a feature of the board's software (a very outdated version of InvisionPowerBoard). The only function that we can do with the Ignored Users template, from what I can see, is tell you which user groups you can't ignore - currently only set to Admin and GM. From what I can find out from Google, even newer versions of the software need add-ons (which aren't supported for our version) to hide users, and that would, as Joseph said, need Phil to add them. On different software it might be more possible - I definitely agree the current version is far from desirable - incidentally the fact that posts can be made 'invisible' for everyone might make you think that it's possible but seemingly that only works on an all-or-nothing basis and this itself is not a universal feature on newer forums as far as I know.
