Dave & Central Cee head for a third week at #1, meanwhile Doja Cat commences her latest album campaign with Attention, former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne aims for a big debut with Don't Say Love, and Peggy Gou looks set for her breakthrough chart success with (It Goes Like) Nanana

the race for the #1 album sees Queens Of The Stone Age's In Times New Roman and Tom Grennan's What Ifs & Maybes in contention, along with Ben Howard following up his chart-topping 2021 record with Is It. Further new releases include Sigur Rós' comeback with ÁTTA, along with albums from Gunna, Asake, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Killer Mike, Django Django, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Far From Saints, Pet Shop Boys and Texas - plus 20th anniversary reissues from Girls Aloud and Dannii Minogue

Breakdown of the week

- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.

- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.

- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm

- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.

- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.

- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)

- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).

- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.

- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.

- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Should be an easy #1 for Tom Grennan; wonder if he can sell as much as Niall and/or McFly last week.
I'd rather QOTSA but Tom has been on pre-order for like half a year

Really busy week for albums - QOASA, Tom Grennan, Ben Howard, Texas, PSB, plus anniversary re-issues from Girls Aloud and Dannii Minogue.

HMV’s vinyl week should have an impact too for artists like Sam Fender, Elton John etc.,

QOTSA's last album did 32.1k first week in 2017, Tom Grennan's did 17.3k in 2021. I could see them going either way this time. (Ben Howard's last did 15.6k 2 weeks after Tom's which is actually closer than I remembered).
Wow, I'm surprised QOTSA sold as many as that 6 years ago, given that their career peak was arguably about 20 years ago. They'll likely drop from that figure this time and Tom may gain a little from his, so yeah I think it's quite difficult to call at this stage.

Edited by Mangø

QOTSA's new song Paper Machete is really good, hope they get the #1.

Wonder if As It Was will climb to #5 to complete a clean sweep of all Top 10 positions...

I wonder if Leigh can manage a first look #1 position. Hoping she's on 15k+ if it's true that she's sold 10k CD's... but we'll see, I guess.
^^ She said on insta (I think) that she was signing 10k but they are still available to buy now and when they first went on sale were available internationally.

That makes a lot more sense to me. Thanks!

She sold out her first batch (of all 3 versions - 2 x individual + the 2 CD bundle (and the international ones were extremely limited so I'm not sure it's a big amount!)) but have put some more back in stock since those (which is what you're referring to I assume?). I hope she's basically sold enough to debut top 10 at least. That will be a big result for her.

Even if Leigh-Anne has sold 10k in physicals, it won’t be enough to topple Dave Cee as their streaming is much stronger than hers
Who the hell is Leigh Anne?? If we're talkin a Leanne Rimes dj dance tribute act aka that TERRIBLE TERRIBLE trend started by Guetta of repurposing 90s and 2000s hits, they can keep it. Why can't people just leave these classic songs alone, or at least do PROPER covers of them, not interpolations interspersed among cheap dance hall beats?! I just don't get this trend AT ALL!! Which one have they murdered this time - Can't Fight Yhr M9obnggh or Depeest blue?? God music just keeps getting WORSE!! Well at least it's not on the radio yet, unlike I'm Blue, which is just a pale intimitation of a classic anyway. Oh and Baby Don't Hurt Me!! Crap!

It's a different Leigh Anne, she was a member of Little Mix and she's just released her debut single, but I agree with the rest
