It’s no more of a reach that people drawing wild conclusions based on not even 24 hours streaming. That Sprinter song is awful in comparison but it’s not exactly my thing.

You don’t think she could have gotten more listens had she been released at midnight instead of 5am? Midnight on a day where people actively listen to the NMF playlist? I do think she may have gotten closer and may have been #1 (not by a lot) tbh. So I don’t think it’s a reach at all.

I think a top 3 hit fot a second album is finr. Many acts flop with thr second, like Natasha Bedingfield or Nelly Furtado.

I don't think Miley opened at #1 either iirc and look how that turned out! I still think she will get #1 with cd singles etc but it'll just be a question of whether it's a long standing #1 or a one week #1 really.

I think it's quite a good first day? Particularly as it is 19 hours instead of the full 24 (would've likely gotten another ~50k or so streams if it was released at midnight?). I expect it might stay fairly stable in tomorrow's update or even climb possibly? Particularly if the song goes viral on tiktok.

 

She should get to #1 I would think with physicals taken into account plus the music video has done almost 15 million views so far. Will be interesting to see how many of those views are from the UK - should have the numbers for that tonight, I'll post them if I remember.
