July 3, 20232 yr Yes at the prospect of As It Was dropping out of the T10! Hoping Nothing but Thieves can hold on to the #1 album. I listened to it today and it’s pretty solid. Good albums from Grian and Olivia Dean too. I’d rather it was on ACR. If I had to choose between the song being in the top 10 on ACR or out the top 10 on SCR, I’d rather the former
July 3, 20232 yr Great to see NBT at #1 at this stage although it does look like Elton will pose a huge threat alongside Uzi (tbh I'm not really bothered which one gets it - there all mostly great). Would be nice to also see Grian in the top 5 by the end of the week as well. NBT will be fine I'm sure. They moved their album to have a better chance at the #1, so I'm sure discounting/ticket bundles will come very shortly.

Obviously it can’t but what I mean is that you sometimes have songs in the top 10 on ACR and if a song is out the top 10 on SCR, it can easily go top 10 and a song which is top 10 on ACR can easily be pushed out of the top 10
July 3, 20232 yr Pity but not surprised the immensely talented Olivia Dean only selling 2k but at least she’s top 10 in the first mids. Also didn’t think Grian would be as high as 2 at this stage! The last two Fontaines DC studio albums have made the top two. Even though this solo album is rather different, I still expected it to do well.

July 4, 20232 yr That's not really the same thing though - yes all greatest hits albums are mostly not getting streams from people specifically streaming those albums, but the Madonna album is getting the vast majority of its streams from completely different versions of the songs to the ones that are on the actual album (a remaster is not the same as a remix). I always thought it was very questionable that they were able to flip her catalogue streams from The Immaculate Collection over to this remix album. ~ Was rooting for Elton last week but I really hope he doesn't deny Nothing But Thieves a #1 album this week - NBT are a band I don't really think about too often but they have actually quietly racked up a really strong singles discography and a #1 album feels overdue for them by this point. Good to see Grian's solo album doing pretty well, wasn't sure if the Fontaines D.C. audience would necessarily translate over to this (and clearly not all of it has but a decent chunk). Also wow was definitely not expecting to see bdrmm in the midweek chart at all let alone as high as the top 20! Hopefully that should be more than enough for them to be safely top 100 in the final chart. + yay for Taylor and Peggy being top 10 now after missing out in the First Look
July 5, 20232 yr It's another flaw of the album charts, they should only count album versions of the songs but right now if you release 20 remixes of a song and 5 duet versions, they all count for the album chart even if none of those are on the album, which makes zero sense to me

July 5, 20232 yr Padam on 100,000 by the end of last week. Defo silver in 6 weeks. Jax Jones mix doesn't seem to have added that much of a bump, not sure the Absolute mix will either but fingers crossed for a lengthy Top 20 journey.

I think we're looking at a very hefty figure in the longrun, there's no reason it won't continue to trickle stream and sell healthily even when it leaves the chart (whenever that may be)
