Welcome to Week 8 of these polls! Choose your most and least faves above B-)

Results from Week 7:

A convincing win for Ultravox - Vienna with 11 votes, although Laurie Anderson had an honourable 8 votes as runner-up.

The prize for worst song went to Star Sound - Stars On 45 (Volume 2) with 8 votes - maybe Racey would have challenged if they'd been included, or maybe they wouldn't.

Again I restricted my best vote to my top tier faves - Sweet Dreams, Temptation and Flashdance

Sorry Cliff, but Daddy's Home is another one of his I wouldn't choose to go back to.

Missed last one but a obvious amd deserving winner there for 'Vienna'!

Would have also voted for Kim and Phil too, at least of the ones in Fave there which are both brill!

Really hard to narrow the best list down to 5 but I’ve gone for Stranglers, Yazoo, Steve Miller Band, Duran Duran and Heaven 17.

Worst Cliff and Shaky.

Voted for my top three this week:

  • The Stranglers - Golden Brown
  • Duran Duran - Save A Prayer
  • Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

then Cliff for worst

Cliff was the worst one I heard. I suspect the Shaky one would also have been awful but I didn't hear it so...

Sticking to my absolute faves, I've gone for Save a Prayer, Sweet Dreams, Electric Avenue and Modern Love.

I voted for Golden Brown, Abracadabra, Save A Prayer, Flashdance and Love Of The Common People.

For the worst, Blue Christmas and Tonight I Celebrate My Love.

Don't think this is as strong a selection as last week but gone for my top 3 of Eurythmics (pretty easily the best here tbh), Spandau Ballet and The Stranglers.

The Paul Young song is decent but didn't expect it to make the list! Though I see it does have a couple of votes.

The World Cup thing for the worst (I already forgot about it and thought I'd be joining on the Cliff dogpile ddd, in fairness the other half of its double A-Side was a bit better). The Bardo song was not that bad. Adam Faith something something.

Bit more of a mixed bag today but still a lot of classics and good discoveries. Voted Golden Brown, Save a Prayer, Electric Avenue, Sweet Dreams, Temptation and Flashdance with quite a few others close behind. All ones I already knew as my favourite discovery (Private Investigations) didn't make it aww x

Daddy's Home for worst pretty easily, Shaky's EP was a tedious experience but no one song stood out as particularly objectionable.

Voted for The Stranglers, Eurythmics, Duran Duran & Heaven 17.

Went with Cliff for the worst but a bit harder to separate them this week, all equally shite compared to one standout abomination.

tactical voting from me again. there's loads I rate, but I figured it would be Golden Brown for the win and I love Eurythmics and Heaven 17 more so they get my votes.

I mean, as usual I get mystified by the worst options. Bardo wasnt a classic, but I wouldnt call it bad as such, just a bit meh. Cliff's is a cover of a sweet 50's song, and the retro feel is one I like a lot - plus it's a live track not intended to be a hit, it just happened to be recorded. Roberta Flack on a Worst list?! It's not her best by any means but she's never ever bad. Shaky's is quite naff - Blue Christmas is a song I don't much like in any version, and this isn't even a good version. But if there's a godawful football record on offer I'm always going to go for that. And this isn't the worst England footie song either. But voters here haven't had to listen to it for weeks on end like I did! The more you hear it the more it annoys......

Voted for Stranglers, Yazoo, Eddy Grant, Eurythmics, Heaven 17, Irene Cara, Spandau Ballet, David Bowie and Paul Young!

World Cup Squad for worst. I don't hate the Cliff song even though it is technically rubbish lol and I don't like the original 'Blue Christmas' but Shaky's isn't too bad imo, not great either mind. Peabo and Roberta is kinda dull and Bardo is fine, is the clear best of the least faves for me!
