smack dab in the middle so this month has been a very… average month in terms of song contest performances, C’s get degrees :lol: congrats Rollo! :heart:

Woo pleased with 3rd that's 3 of the top 5 positions for me now minus the contests I didn't particpate in between. The song did make 55 in the chart fwiw but it really stood out to me when I went to check it out even if it was the standard trance track. Amazed to do so well with it as I anticipated top 15 or 20 or something lol.

 

Happy with that winner as well, was a fab track Rollo, congrats and some great stuff in the top 10 also.

Congrats Rollo! Happy enough with 14th for myself, I was like 😬 when I saw horsegiirL showing up in BJSC too but it seems like it's been a busy week for her with both that and getting dragged on national radio (one of my friends also went to see her live and said she was great!).

Thanks Jim for getting me past the line and everyone else who liked Flight enough to vote for it. I listened to about 20 songs from a Spotify hard trance playlist and thought that this one was the best and it reminded me of my previous Club Bizarre winner which also combined piano with trance.

Well done Rollo on a second win here, dandy* championing the winner all along! Great results in the end for ZikOre and Midbooze we love to see, niche fans coming through out of the late confirmers x Voted for 7 of the top 10 overall, pretty good going - though my other 3 votes all ended up quite low down, I'm not toooo surprised at Zhi-Vago but disappointing to see THK and Aquaplex down there :(

 

Bottom 10 for myself and officially failing at both of my objectives, sad times. But it's a better result than my first attempt to send psytrance here at the very least so it could be worse.

OH WAIT I FORGOT my usual CB entry fact for whenever I send something rhythm game related

 

Nanobii made his debut in DDR on October 2021, and that was more of a happy hardcore song if anything, but I was glad that he dipped his toe into eurodance and that’s what most of his material has been since. Hopefully he gets into another rhythm game or gets another song into DDR possibly as a licensed song, similar to what Porter Robinson did.

 

Oh, my entry was first to be revealed. I don't have to wait then. :P

I was following parts of this on my phone and was floundering around the bottom for most of the results so coming back to see me just outside the top 5 is a nice improvement *.* Thank you very much all who pointed me, especially Leww, Kath, Jade and Bre for the top 2 scores. Very happy with 6th place and my best performance this year.

 

I am not used to my entry being raised for discussion in the mod forum and I can see it's not typically trance, sorry about that but it was tagged as that everywhere and there were some much more trance-y tracks on the EP (which I'd recommend to those who liked this one x), and it's got such a delicious build and atmosphere that I'm pleased to have a bit of a standout one especially as trance can feel quite samey.

 

Congrats Rollo, joining the two wins club :party: Was a good example of a classic trance song formula done well. My top 2 were the top 2 just switched and my 8 pointer was in 4th so not much to complain about. Had serious entry envy with The Planets and it was amusing seeing everyone so sure it was me at the listenthrough (though I don't so much envy finishing in 2nd again :kink:). Apologies to jim for being the one song I was pretty vocally harsh too at the listenthrough :ph34r: I'm quite fond of the original and dance remakes can be a bit of a pet peeve of mine x

Thanks for the bronzes Ansel and Colm, plus the other two votes - a bit of a shot-to-nothing entry as I didn't have much in the way of obscure stuff on my radar for this theme. I avoided the wooden spoon anyway.

 

Lots of enjoyable discoveries - the nanobii song has been stuck in my head ever since the listenthrough and I'm not mad. The two psytrance songs which made my top 3 were eventful journeys, and I'm pleased the other of my top 3 won - well done again Rollo!

Also, fun fact about my entry... I didn't realise this until after I'd already confirmed but it's actually an accidental semi-recycle of a dandy* and Jade artist, as Hallucinogen is 1/2 of Shpongle of 'Around The World In A Tea Daze' fame (a song so nice it was sent twice, albeit in remix form the second time)! I fought the urge to go back to the drawing board and find a truly original artist as I usually try to do in the song contests as it was already late and I felt pretty happy with the entry, maybe I'd have been better off if I did look for something else but hey :kink:

Finished exactly where I was expecting. As Rich said, I think nostalgia got the best of me and had to go with 90's (maybe I should have stick with my original confirmation but we will never know lol) considering Zhi Vago was one of my other option as well and unfortunately that did as badly as 7 Seconds :nocheer:

I think it was mentioned during listen sesh that it samples B.B.E. and if my memory serves me well, indeed B.B.E. released and charted in Germany in 1996 and this came right after like couple of months later!!!

 

At that time we all thought Nomansland was side project of B.B.E. which turns out to be false...so basically it's another case of one song ripping off another and getting away with it :lol:
