So pleased both Dua and Billie got a week.

What a run for Dua! Odd if it goes straight to ACR after finally getting up there at its last attempt.

No, because it's been played the last 2 weeks. This is almost definitely a one off.

And he ignored it the week it goes top 10. But on the other hand, yay for Dua

Yes but that doesn't mean it'll be snubbed forever...

It'll be interesting to see how close it is at the top - perhaps the Dua Lipa pink cassette release made the difference (mine arrived this morning, by the way!)
so happy dua made the #1 even if its not one of her best, and it was the best outcome with billie getting it last week so both could get a turn! also looks like well have a new one next week too as shes off to acr (apparently)! loving this quick #1 turnover! expecting doja to get it next week, and then hopefully olviia the next week with her physicals so the quick turnover contines!

YES DUA!!!! Knew/felt it but...still. Always extra strenuous for her! What stellar timing too far as momentum going into the new era and 1st single!

Damn this guy reeally pimping hard for Billie. Beyond blatant lol

Sorry for the duplicate post!! Lol Again, CONGRATS birthday queen!! Soo overdue for NO Future Nostalgia singles going #1. Justice for DSN getting robbed in 2019/20!!

Edited by JK1

Great for Dua and indeed that's a interesting chart run there with it peaking at #1 on 13th week. Songs decent but not one of her better ones but she was due another solo #1!

Biography

“I think there’s a time in every artist’s life [when] they have to do something that isn’t for fans, isn’t for success, isn’t for touring,” Miley Cyrus told Apple Music in 2018. Cyrus could’ve been speaking about any number of moments from her profoundly varied career. Born Destiny Hope Cyrus—the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus—in Tennessee in 1992, the innovative artist has hardly stayed in one lane for more than a single album since she broke from the bubblegum pop that catapulted her to stardom as Disney’s Hannah Montana. Her 2009 summer anthem “Party In the U.S.A.” earned her a rapid ascent within the pop world, where 2013’s Bangerz—which showcased her musical maturity with “Wrecking Ball” and experimented with elements of Dirty South hip-hop—made her an icon. Vocal about her pansexuality and love for marijuana, Cyrus has worked hard to shed her wholesome teen image, and simultaneously defied odds by earning a reputation for an intense work ethic and an unshakable self-assuredness. She headed to left-field with the psych-tinged 2015 album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, a collaboration with members of The Flaming Lips, and with 2017’s Younger Now, a countrified pop offering that featured godmother Dolly Parton. And she's teamed up with rappers Mike Will Made It and will.i.am, Sarah Barthel of electronic rock group Phantogram, and, in 2018, Mark Ronson for the dramatic hit single “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart.” Those frequent partnerships have been major catalysts in the creation of Cyrus' diverse catalog and in the cementing of her status as a pop pace-setter by refusing to let it, or herself, be easily defined. - Apple Music

Biography

Talking to Apple Music in early 2020, Selena Gomez said the point when her career really started to shift was when she shot the 2012 movie Spring Breakers. Even if she hadn’t spent the first part of her life as a Disney kid, the movie—guns, drugs, so on—would’ve been the kind of deep-end leap that pop stars tend to be conditioned away from. Selena Gomez is famous. But she’s also a survivor of fame, a candid chronicler of mental health whose best music—“Lose You to Love Me,” “Back to You,” Dance Again”—has brought a degree of frankness to mainstream pop that feels both refreshing and necessary. “I think that’s how I’ve continued to have a career,” Gomez said. “I’m very okay with speaking about myself. I think that’s truly what has sustained me. And I don’t do it purposefully, I do it because it’s necessary for me.”

Born in 1992, Gomez grew up poor outside Dallas, making her way into the Disney machine in her mid-teens, becoming the most-followed—and probably most-scrutinized—person on Instagram by her early twenties. She started releasing music with her band The Scene in 2009, going solo in 2013 with Stars Dance. By 2015’s Revival, she’d taken greater control over both her image and songwriting, leaning into a comfortable dance-pop sound that didn’t chase trends. In 2020, she released Rare, an album on which she not only cowrote every track but served as executive producer. She’d also taken a two-year break from social media—a career risk, but a personal necessity. “I was so much happier with just me, myself, how I looked, and that helped a lot,” Gomez told Apple Music. “I just needed to let my old self go.” - Apple Music

Fantastic number 1, glad it got there at it’s seemingly last chance.
Damn this guy reeally pimping hard for Billie. Beyond blatant lol

So true, a whole dialogue he gave there about how monumental the Billie song is in the movie.

Oh and by the way, here's Dua from the soundtrack too at No.1  No fanfare for her though and her monumental achievement. This song worked really well in the film too in a completely different context. Billie's was always going to hold more emotional heft as it's a ballad that comes towards the climax of the film.

Blatant and kind of *cringe (meant to add) haha. Billie's song is really technically GOOD but my god it's not this epic masterpiece. He's a bit much esp. how many red hot songs (Doja etc..) he doesn't play but rants away instead.

At least 1/2 way a*s attempt to be professional/ neutral & deliver some factual 411 on DUA w. some enthusiasm esp. the fact it's her 1st solo in 5 years etc..!!

New entries and new peaks outside the top 40:

45. Jazzy - Feel It (+21)

47. Prinz & Gabriela Bee - Highs & Lows (+5)

51. Turno, Skepsis & Charlotte Plank - Rave Out (+3)

77. Giggs ft. Dave - Incredible Sauce (NEW)

86. Hozier & Brandi Carlile - Damage Gets Done (NEW)

90. Tory Lanez & Trippie Redd - Hurts Me (RE)

96. Beyond Chicago, Majestic & Alex Mills - Million Dollar Bill (+2)

97. Billy Gillies ft. Hannah Boleyn - DNA (Loving You) (NEW)

Jack regularly does that build up for artists on his own shows so it’s nothing new.
