August 25, 20232 yr Author Good to see both Miley and Selena straight to A-list. I think I prefer Selena's single out of the two. Surprised Billie Eilish has been booted off after just 6 weeks, especially when it's still riding high in the charts :o The A-list has one song less than usual again so last week probably wasn't a mistake after all - guess they're treating the two Olivia singles as separate entries for the playlist count. August 25, 20232 yr Unsurprisingly it looks like ‘Dance The Night’ gets another week unofficially on the A-list. Dimension getting that late rise to the B-list, it’s been a while since a song spent four weeks on the C-list before being moving up. Pleased to see Romy added, but not too fussed about the other new entries. I guess they’re waiting until a few weeks before the album release before added Jorja Smith but seeing as she was RMC’s tune of the week last week, I was hoping for an add today. August 25, 20232 yr Hadji you should probably contact Radio 1 directly with your theories every week I'm sure they'll really appreciate your suggestions ;) Just because something is released today doesn't mean they have the room to add it and boot something else off, they reserve those spots for high profile releases. Peggy and Taylor were Top 5 last week so something like Stormzy or Gunna would've been an appropriate removal Sad to see Post Malone gone already but yay for Romy

I was referring to 3 artists who are no longer able to be playlisted by Radio 1 by themselves, but have been due to featuring.

August 25, 20232 yr A little surprised they've instantly playlisted 'Meridian' but not the Burna Boy collab yet - even if as a joint playlisting with 'Big 7' - since that is clearly going to be a much bigger hit (and 'Meridian' seems barely even aimed at the UK market but I guess Radio 1 are all in for any new Dave single). Good to see 'Masculine' being pushed as the next J Hus single I guess!

Wonder what the delay was in adding it this morning. Can't remember the last time we had three new adds to the A-list, we are spoilt this week! EDIT: Actually it happened just a couple of months ago, but one of those was Lewis Capaldi's one-week wonder 'Haven't You Ever Been In Love Before?' so I'm not sure if that counts. Before that you have to go back to December 2021 but again one of those was 'Tracks From 30'. So the last time it properly happened was 9th July 2021 when BTS, Post Malone and Dave/Stormzy were all added to the A-list in the same week! Edited August 25, 20232 yr by Mangø
