October 26, 20232 yr Idk I can’t see Cher doing anything but freefalling with this release. Physical sales just aren’t there after week 1 for anybody They are sometimes for Christmas albums / Q4 releases that are clearly aimed as Christmas presents! (most recently last year Cliff Richard had a good 4 and a half weeks of relatively respectable physical sales)

October 26, 20232 yr Maybe but he entered at #2, it’s a bit different His album was released in the last week of November. Cher has yet to do UK promo for the album. DJPACS hasn't even been playlisted on Radio 2 yet. Edited October 26, 20232 yr by Voodoo
October 26, 20232 yr I also think it’s all a little too early, I reckon she will rise like Dolly did last year if she does the promo rounds for it but she is unlikely to get a high charting album from it now. Possibly a top 20 further down the line? Edited October 26, 20232 yr by spiceboy
October 26, 20232 yr The sales amount for the Stones isn't surprising, but the streams being over 2k is a surprise. Respect.
October 27, 20232 yr I don't think anything can ever really come out too early - there's only a week or two difference between when it came out and when you're proposing it should come out and I think it'd do just the same on release week whether it came out now or then. The fans just get a little longer to listen to it before it gets tucked away until next year. There's not an official start time for when Christmas listening can begin after all! I think launch date is really important even if we are talking only 2-3 weeks, it can definitely impact a lot on how new music is received/promoted/talked about. October is just too early. Similarly to not releasing new music 2-3 weeks before Christmas, you'd wait till the New Year when there is a bigger appetite for new music rather than Christmas music. Launch date is crucial in a new music campaign, Christmas or not.  In other news, routing for Prada to get it's time at #1 this week.
