Have I missed any particular reason for Teenage Dream being top 30?

Vinyl release

There are 5 3 variants to buy at the moment.

Standard CD

Standard CD (HMV Exclusive Sleeve)

Standard CD (Amazon Exclusive Sleeve)

Standard CD (Webstore Exclusive Sleeve)

Red Vinyl

No. There are only 3 variants available at the moment. The Ruby Red vinyl is coming out on November 17th, whereas the Webstore Exclusive Edition is actually sold by Cher's USA store, which likely means it won't count to the UK chart.

I bought the One Of The Boys vinyl (such an underrated album) and put Teenage Dream on my Christmas list as it was nearly £40, which seemed extreme.

Shame Prada can’t nab a week at the top

Really hoping Noah, Billy and Troye all manage to nab a spot in the top 10 at some point.

surprised there's such a little interest for the teenage dream vinyl tbh

only top 30 seems low considering the album has been charting just outside the top 40 all year round only on streams

and many reissues go top 20 and even top 10

Cher falling from 10 to 23 in two days :-(

I'm surprised the pet shop boys album is holding up better than Cher for now. I really thought Cher would manage top 20 safely but now it looks like a low top 40.

Do Christmas albums actually do well in October, thought most of them climbed later

Some make a brief appearance at the time of release. They then generally drop straight back out before returning in December. I suspect the same will happen with Cher.

I don't know why people release Christmas albums as early as October, surely it makes more sense to release them in early December for maximum impact? Or late November at the earliest.

Yeah I think earliest albums should come out is early November, post Halloween.

So this year 3rd Nov onwards. Anything earlier is bonkers i think. I understand labels want it out longer for obvious reasons, but there just isn't a huge appetite for Christmas music in October.

Releasing in December is far too late, you'll only be giving your album a few weeks of impact rather than 2-3 months. Earlier release means it's in shops ready for the festive period and can possibly benefit from gift buying as well (and as we all know from following the charts, Christmas listening for many begins on 1st November and we usually have Mariah in the top 40 before December's arrived, so why wait?)
Being available for purchase as a Christmas gift is the only benefit I can see to releasing it early, but even then I think a November release would be fine. Realistically who's going to be playing it at the moment? Hardcore Cher fans who are going to buy/stream the album on week one will buy/stream it regardless of when it's released.

I don't think anything can ever really come out too early - there's only a week or two difference between when it came out and when you're proposing it should come out and I think it'd do just the same on release week whether it came out now or then. The fans just get a little longer to listen to it before it gets tucked away until next year. There's not an official start time for when Christmas listening can begin after all!

Idk I can’t see Cher doing anything but freefalling with this release. Physical sales just aren’t there after week 1 for anybody

She has the vinyl coming out on November 17th, and I suspect she'll do European promotion around that time.
