What happened to that AC/DC campaign?

The campaign started today to get “Thunderstruck” to Number 1, but unfortunately, there seems to be little enthusiasm.

Yay for Sophie! ‘Saltburn’ is excellent and the song is used incredibly well. Also, I’m not surprised it’s having an effect. There are 3 key scenes that people will talk about for a while with that movie and the Sophie scene is one of them! One of the wildest movies I have seen in a while!

It was for 2 weeks after Xmas so I believe the aim week is next week but idk if it’s still going ahead or not lmao

All I’m gonna say is… don’t watch saltburn to hear MOTD at the end lmao just skip the show and play the song yourself irs not worth experiencing whatever the f*ck that was just for the song lmao

It’s a very you’re gonna love it or hate it movie. Aha. For a very specific taste I think!

Yeah, I made the same mistake lol.

Very happy to see the MOTD revival. Been too long since Sophie EB was in the charts.

thought the AC/DC campaign was postponed til next week?

from the OCC post in Dec:

AC/DC fans are no longer trying to get their 1990 track “Thunderstruck” to #1 for Christmas.

In November, in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary, the Facebook fan group AC/DC We Salute You launched a campaign to get “Thunderstruck” to top of the U.K. charts for the holidays. The group attempted a similar campaign in 2013, in honor of the band’s 40th anniversary, and got “Highway To Hell” to #4.

Now, the U.K. Official Charts report fans have decided to postpone the campaign to the week of January 4 so it won’t compete with Christmas tunes and has a better shot at the top spot. Organizers say they polled three different fan groups, and 83% agreed to the postponement.

“By choosing to delay by two weeks, we’ll also avoid being caught up in the Christmas songs that will no doubt be prominent the week after Christmas as well,” the page’s administrators told the Official Charts.

I keep seeing MOTD as 'Match of the Day'.

That’s all I see too 🤣

Ahh that’s where I got confused. If they wanted Xmas number 1 then 2 weeks from that week woulda meant this week, no?
Still loads of Xmas songs in the apple top 50 - does it usually take as long to fall?

Apple Music layout is very bad in my opinion. But due to their algorithm it keeps playing ‘popular songs’ and those songs seem popular even if they aren’t right now so they’re getting a lot of unwanted plays from people who’s playlists have finished etc. Spotify update things better but still have a few of them in their chart playlists. Apple Music isn’t playing any at all.

The AC/DC campaign has started they’re #2 on Amazon downloads and 26 atm but rising on iTunes I give it a day before it just slips down and gets nowhere but if they stream hard too then you never know
Murder on the Danceflloor at #20 :cheeseblock:

Never thought I'd see the day!! :cheeseblock:

So from how I understand it it’s impossible for Popular to get reset?
I wouldn’t have thought that Saltburn is the main reason for MOTDF getting a boost. There’s gotta be something else as well or is it just because of Saltburn?
