Kind request for Callum to post the spreadsheet links for semis and final please.

8th is a unique position so that's even better *.* I genuinely never expected anything like this high for a song like this and I didn't even show up in half the odds, really lovely surprise to see something you sent as a risk really pay off. It really stood out to me a lot when I heard it on 6Music, and given that's at 6:45 in the morning, it takes a good song to wake me up! Thanks all for voting <3

 

Misterwives did strike me as something that would do quite well given their past popularity, I didn't vote for it but it was decent, and of course very pleased to see Harmonica get a long overdue win, especially after so many DNQs this year! Karma Kid was a real highlight, really glad to see it do so well, not a lot I voted for in the top 10 otherwise, but Abeltesfayeton getting top 10 is great, that was a tune and makes up for their other undeserved flops this year.

 

Very pleased to see Land of DW and Spod do well too, not a bad showing for fellow #postpunkbloc member too x (probably would've got more from me had I had time for more listens sorry :x). A shame Singerpurear, Fljotavik and Seyetana couldn't be a bit higher, but all quite niche so not a bad showing x

Thanks Callum for hosting! Very pleased to see Harmonica getting their debut win with a great entry. I thought the entry is quite pop (maybe my impression on pop is quite skewed perhaps due to my most played genre being Alt Z :kink: ) so wasn't as surprised as others about it winning. It's an okay year for us as I got 2 top 10 though with 4 gutting DNQs. Hopefully it will be a better year for me next year! ^_^

aww that is a bit annoying but ah well </3 on the bright side how great that we got another 18 courtesy of Numayania :wub: my last two entries received 0 golds so nice to have two this time. Also, as my votes have now been revealed, I can comment on the fact that me and Bronzil performed an 18 swap, oh my :cheeseblock: Thanks to everyone who pointed 'Niemand' ^_^ sadly not a unique position but it's in good company with previous 21st placers aYia and ISON, girl power.

 

I didn't vote for the winner this time but a HUGE congrats to Jord, so thrilled that you got a first time victory :wub: elsewhere in the top 10 I voted for: Utopia (12), Kathaldazia (15), Terra Avium (11) and Abeltesfayeton (3) - good to see quite a few big favourites up there. Aelandor and Jupiterdonia deserved much better on the other hand -_-

Brilliant winning song, I liked MisterWives - Wrongside from last year so was hoping I'd like this as much, and I prefer it - I thought it could do well too! At the same time I'm sorry to see RFC miss out by a small margin, Utopia would have had my 1 point if I'd been in semi 2 and very nearly made it into my final votes, albeit probably not far enough. Great to see my bronze medallist Kath take bronze here, and the EOY with it! :clap: A bit unlucky for my gold and silver medallists to end up 21st and 11th but well done Nate, fab to see a fellow 2023 newbie landing a top 10 too!

Thanks also to Kath and Bré for the 12s, Roba for 11, !!! for 8, Conor and Oliver for 3s and Jake for a point in the second half. I didn't think I'd maintain my half time position of 6th (looks like I got as high as 4th after the next 5 votes), but I'm happy with 17th and can now add the 11-20 range to all the others (including the 41+ range last time out) - great way to end the year and I'm glad others heard what I did in 'Dusk'!

Sorry for the delay everyone! HERE: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10JH...t#gid=614646792 are the spreadsheets as I had them. As you'll know there may be a few inconsistencies with Bré's numbers so I would trust his final scores more than mine!

 

I will now need to take this time to issue a HUGE apology to Ben as I regret to inform you that you actually did qualify. It was a mix-up on my behalf where I only gave Cadelicia a 15% deduction as opposed to a 33% deduction which would have meant they finished 21st as opposed to 20th in SF2. I'm so sorry, especially as I know my PM to you may have been the prompt for you enter the contest in the first place. Of course, I have already made moderators aware.

 

Thank you everyone for your patience, I am currently in the midst of moving house so this has been quite a challenge, but I hope you all enjoyed it nonetheless. And another extended congratulations to Riser, what a way to close 2023 for you. See you all in January :heart:

Oh, I really DID only just finish like 18th in the semi so my fears were founded this time round! With that in mind, I already thought 14th was a success but from a projected finish of ~38th, it's a HUGE improvement.

Spodic Empire did better in the final than the semi.

Congratulations Harmonica, I’m disappointed but not surprised that I only just qualified but it’s still my best result in a while.

 

It would have been nice for Ben to qualify, mostly to have a mini-2009-era-Chart-Mod reunion, but also os it was a remix of one of my fav songs of all time. Give him free entry to the final with the same song next time? :kink:

I agree that putting Ben's song from this contest directly into the next final would be the best solution.

would be fairer to just give Ben an AQ in the next contest with a fresh song I'd think? rather than have him compete with the same song again or have two entries

 

in the past when this happened it was just tough luck for whoever got wrongly denied a qualifier anyhow but precedent could be changed moderator willing

 

FWIW I'd have only given 'Ti Sento' one point in the final (I ranked everything before going on holiday)
