OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED

posted my reaction to hearing this for the first time toooooo, if you wanna check it out (shameless, ik ik)

This is brilliant, instant love! The intro is a great choice too and sets it apart from a lot of other pop around atm. A bold move - (that I assume will be edited for radios and Spotify for tiktok listeners :'))

But yeah in its current form: I AM A BIG FAN, especially through the Madonna vibes I can hear throughout.

Love this  your joy was a delight to watch!

I heard 'yes, and?' on Radio 2 this afternoon and they played the full song but the presenter did talk over quite a bit of the intro!

I've been reading reactions online and it's so funny to witness confusion over the length of the intro from some younger fans  never did I expect Ari to give us this after the laughable track lengths on the positions deluxe, but I'm so here for it.

Oh I know, I listen to a lot of much longer music regularly but it does feel somewhat refreshing in today's TikTok-ified landscape to have an intro like that from a mainstream artist. :P

It's a cool video but I don't think it feels as massive as it could have been.

The track is just sounding better and better with every listen.

Ooh this is a good one, I wasn't really into the sultry, R'n'B sound of her last few eras so I'm hoping this signifies a departure from that. Certainly channeling Vogue in a lot of ways including the video, I'm not sure how to describe it, it's just one of those songs that sounds instantly massive.

The fact this is even seen as a 'long' song makes me a bit sad, what happened to letting music develop as it builds? :drama:

With me I think this will be more of a like than a love. Because it’s Ariana I’ve listened to it more than I would usually by my first impression but if this by a female artist not on my stan / faves list I’d probably not go out my way to listen. It’s still early days of course but yeah.

But as I said earlier in the thread her lead singles besides no tears aren’t necessarily career highlights or even highlights of their respective albums it’s always with the follow up singles and album tracks where she really delivers for me. It’s nice to have her back though.

Instantly enjoying this more than her last era... I think this could be huge for her *.*
Love this  Probably my 4th favourite lead single from Kween Ari (the best being 'Thank U Next', followed closely by 'No Tears Left To Cry' and then 'Positions'), although I think it could become my 3rd fav pretty quickly!
Love this! There’s clear nods to ‘Vogue’, from the minute long intro and the finger snaps, but there’s a lot of Ariana injected into it as well. The style of lyrics remind me of ‘thank u, next’, even the title alone. The song is such an ear worm, I’ve already listened to it like ten times today and I can’t see it wearing off for a long time.
On first listen I wasn't fully convinced by the chorus (centering the song around a phrase as short as "yes, and?" made it feel a little empty) but actually now I take that back, it's been in my head all day!

A cassette has been added to Ari's store, £9.99 is a total rip-off once again but the completist in me just gave her a third physical sale

playing it via Walkman will only enhance the 90s experience I guess

p.s. this is cute:

Absolutely love yes, and? I heard the vogue influence a mile away and that was without knowing, going in that it was inspired by Vogue in some way. Much prefer her upbeat music to her other stuff as well.

#1 on U.K. Spotify with 792k streams :cheer: Noah Kahan is going to be strong competition this week but happy she can still pull in such numbers.

11.2M worldwide which is quite easily her highest Global Spotify debut to date :o
