January 21, 20241 yr Author Thank you to the 24 voters! Each of the 11 songs had at least one of your 12 point votes. I'll count them down over the next few hours.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 11. The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk - Starboy 77 points - 12s: Y'all Starlight 34Na4j8AVgA The newest song in the final is out first - it also returned to the Top 100 for 5 weeks last year.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 10. Hozier - Take Me To Church 94 points - 12s: Bjork PVjiKRfKpPI And it's farewell to the 2010s as Hozier is out next - also in this week's chart at #88.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 9. Kylie Minogue - Confide In Me 103 points - 12s: King Rollo WSFDCmmsqEI Kylie managed over 100 points, but only enough for 9th - she has also had the most recent Top 10 single of the acts appearing so far.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 8. Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone 108 points - 12s: gooddelta, Dobbo lHjNmyzrVvM The only song in the final to have been held to #2 by three different #1s drops out in 8th.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 7. The Beach Boys - God Only Knows 117 points - 12s: TimConArtist, JulianT, Popchartfreak M0lj3WX_5ps The only representative of the 1960s in the final drops out in 7th - just one of three songs to have picked up 12s from three or more voters.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 6. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. 119 points - 12s: Jade, West HyHNuVaZJ-k Gorillaz are one of three acts in the final to have had a #1 album last year - the others being Kylie and Hozier.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 5. The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York 131 points - 12s: Maestro, jimwatts j9jbdgZidu8 This song still holds the record for most weeks in the Top 20, currently with 75, and has visited all of its positions except #1.
January 21, 20241 yr Author 4. The Beatles - Let It Be 138 points - 12s: Mangø QDYfEBY9NM4 The only representative of the 1970s has made it to 4th. The three remaining are from the 80s, 90s and 2000s (with a return in the 2020s!)
January 21, 20241 yr Sophie’s definitely been inflated by the revival - she was behind Gorillaz in the preliminary vote
January 21, 20241 yr Shame that Gorillaz didn't make the top 5 but not entirely unexpected as it did seem a bit all over the place in people's votes! It's one of two songs in the line-up that I've heard live (the other being 'Better Off Alone' at a 90s nostalgia kind of night) and it was an incredible moment
January 21, 20241 yr Author 3. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor 160 points - 12s: Roba., vibe, AaronTM hAx6mYeC6pY As with this week's singles chart, Sophie takes third place - the only song to have visited its #2 peak in three different years as it stands! Two former poll winners remain, but which has come out on top here? Edited January 21, 20241 yr by jimwatts
