NTLTC was very unlucky, it had a first week sale of 74k which was much greater than Positions ever got, she just chose the wrong week to release as One Kiss peaked that week with 83k

 

One Last Time had an even bigger sales peak with 80k but was stuck behind Despacito on 101k which was massive for the entirety of that month

Apple Music is not a particularly relevant platform for pop / dance songs in the US, but cool for you that it's providing you a data point to cherrypick now you can't point to it decreasing on Spotify :teresa:

 

Btw people always massively overestimate how much streams are inflated by stans. Sales yes, but the raw numbers of casual streams are just too high for stans to intentionally affect in any meaningful way.

I'm sure yes, and? will be comfortably still top five on Spotify this time next week. For a new song to be on over half a million streams daily still a few days after release is impressive for any artist, even if there are, say, 20k repeat fan plays in there it would still be over half a million. It's showing early signs of having legs.

 

It’s holding up reasonably well, reminds me of ‘Vampire’ by Olivia Rodrigo last summer with its performance which so wouldn’t rule it out being no1 for a week maybe round when the albums released depending on the competition!

I can't believe all these female pop stars are struggling and flopping with their #2 hits!!!

Olivia had physicals in her first week too but yes her week at #1 was sealed by a further physical push. (edit: just checked, it was only a vinyl release in the first week and the later release was CDs and cassettes, ofc Ariana has released all 3 this week)

Noah has 300k lead over Ariana today. I guess another 99 versions to drop today 😅

I can't really remember a (non Christmas) song that's been around for such a long time growing into this position of 750k+ daily streams before. These numbers are usually reserved by those huge 'out of the gate' singles that debut at No.1, like Flowers and As It Was. It really could have been Christmas No.1 had this trajectory for it happened a few weeks earlier :o
