All I want now is DWAS to get a week at number 1. If it has a sales increase and avoids ACR it should do it because Taste will probably only decrease now.

But Sailor Song is catching up so it might not happen. Either way a number 2 peak would be great.

Question: (I don’t think this has been discussed).

Is it a) possible b) likely for ‘Apple’ and ‘Guess’ to avoid ACR by increasing streaming by 25%?

On Spotify for example, Apple must have around double the streams on Friday that it had on Thursday.

——

Edit: just realised this has been discussed in detail in the streaming thread.

I’d expect them to be on ACR in this week’s mids and re-set in the final chart if they meet the threshold.

all other charting songs not listed are either on ACR or have fewer than 7 charting weeks

'You're Gonna Go Far' looks like it'll have an historic 4 weeks at #60 peak over 3 spells then *.*

Music Week tells me Hot To Go has indeed had a sales boost this week on their chart report,

although curiously it dropped 316 units week-on-week based on the Alan Jones commentaries

so I'm not sure either but will take it to mean it's not going to be counted as a week of decline for now

Though if 'HOT TO GO!' did in fact decline, it would be off to ACR now despite its new peak?

If 'HOT TO GO!' did have an increase in streams the week before last, when its combined sales fell by 316, its paid sales would need to have fallen by more than that, but it climbed 35-31 on the Sales chart, and in the first of those weeks 'Taste' was #20 with 501 sales, so 'HOT TO GO!' would need to have fallen from (probably a lot) less than 500 sales while at #35 to (probably a lot and then some) less than 184 sales while at #31, which just seems implausible - so I can't see how it wouldn't be on ACR this week.

The reason for the doubt is that the Music Week chart on the website which highlights songs that have had a sales increase each week showed “Hot To Go” as having had an increase the week before last. We know the sales report can sometimes have small errors like 2 digits swapped in a sales figure, and given the Music Week chart is presumably computerised that might be more likely to be right.

Well if it's something like the second week was supposed to be 26,853 instead of 26,353 that would have been an increase. Still, its Spotify streams were down by 1.1% which is consistent with the figures quoted. Guess we'll find out later if it's still top 10 in First Look.

I thought of something, when do they music week chart and sales report, do they both report Thursday the same? Like, could the false Thursday be used for the sales report and then the true Thursday numbers be used to determine ACR?

as expected Taste and Die don't outstay their welcome and it's mostly a week of continued decline although Prada and Hot To Go are suspiciously gaining.

Chappell only fell by 29 sales this week so I guess less than the overall market drop

A few annoying dodges from last week's DCL-2s, although I am quite enjoying Disturbed being serial dodgers and Pawsa getting an extra few weeks, we really could've done with Clean Bandit, Jimin and Kid Laroi leaving us. Casso is also up again

This week it is LolBye to Coldplay's new songs so 'Viva La Vida' will be their highest charting song once more and we may get 'Yellow' back too. Sonny Fodera also has a timely departure to clear up a space in the top ten.

Somedays likely heading off to ACR is great, same for feelslikeimfallinginlove but I guess that would've been out of the top 40 next week anyway.

well if Kid Laroi can get another record-extending week at #36 then that'll be worth the ACR evasion perhaps  (shame he couldn't have gained quite enough to oust the bland 'Stargazing' to it this week)
A rough look at the Spotify numbers tells me that Red Wine Supernova is probably also on ACR now, so I wonder if Casual could chart next week instead replacing Pink Pony Club
finally Somedays gone!!
