But they're probably not doing it specifically for chart purposes, it will be more the fact that they know people will snap them up so the song will generate some extra revenue, whether it's now or in April. I don't think it's a waste!

It will stick around in the US due to their radio play chart format but for the UK it’s annoying as he needs it now

Is it released in the UK? I can only find it in the US Warner store and it's quite expensive too (10 dollars)

I think revenue is the main aim over chart positions - so many artist release physicals that are not in contention for chart places (I bought a Shed Seven 7” vinyl last week which was £16.99 delivered, they sold out of their 600 run).

Yeah only seems to be on the US store, it's a celebratory item to commemorate its continued success at the top of the Global chart, I don't think it was made to be much of a chart boost, definitely not in the US and at that price point.

 

Nevertheless, I've bought my copy xx

it started behind 7 rings but it climbed during the week too and ended up at #1

Taylor will be interesting on singles, Is it over now?, was pretty lucky as it only went number 1 with 45k, but the threshold was only 36k for number 1 that week

 

So impressed by Ariana's continued growth! Had a quick look on Apple and 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' is #3 there now too

Pleased for Djo getting a day at #1 even if it now appears to have next to no chance of getting there officially with Ariana taking off.

 

I think Stick Season managed 72 days in the end. Might not get any more now, but still very impressive!

I'm so pleased for Ari, it's easily the best thing she's done in many years. I wasn't sure it'd do much as it doesn't exactly sound like a hit especially!

I don't think #1 is confirmed for Ari tomorrow as Djo seems to be rising at a very similar rate, those tomorrow numbers will be very interesting.

 

All the big cities on Apple Music (London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow) all have 'We Can't be Friends' at #1, so it's interesting that it's "only" #4 overall.
