when someone mentions songs with US states my first thought is always Sufjan Stevens

who had the genius idea of a project with 50 albums, one for each US state

obviously it was an impossible task so he only made 2, Illinois and Michigan ;)

Day 4: Sufjan Stevens - Concerning the UFO sighting near Highland, Illinois

Song with US state in the title

Day 1 – A song you like with a day in the title - The Mama's and the Papa's - Monday Monday

Day 2 – A song by someone who appeared on a TV Talent show - Ainslie Henderson - Keep Me A Secret

Day 3 – A song you like with a US state in the title - Oh Wonder - Nebraska

Iconic choice, when I was living in Madrid last year there was this one gay club that played this every time we went  definitely a camp classic!

 love that it's still appreciated over 20 years later *.*

This is a song that takes me back to my childhood, it's the first one I took a real liking to with lots of instruments being used and lyrics about a historical event.

Day 4 - Trevor Rabin - Oklahoma

From an ex-member of Yes, this is about the Oklahoma City bombing.

Day 4:

Discovered this quite late (along with most of the National's output), but it's a real favourite now

Great choice, this was the first thing that came to my mind so I’m going to have to think on now

This needs to go in that album track thread too in the 2000s forum, one of the best non-singles ever, majestic, beautiful, dramatic, stunning.

DAY FOUR: US STATES

This could have worked for nostalgia as my dad used to play this a lot too... but it's a classic and I love the way Gladys and her Pips complement each other so well on the vocals. Great track.
