Mobiles (Berlin), Mini Viva (Tokyo), Jay-Z and Kanye (Paris), ELO (London), The Clash (London), Ultravox (Vienna) all very good choices

Cow P, spiceboy and Jade each almost certainly took Rollo's potential entries (Murray Head, ELO and Ultravox). :cheeseblock:

Yes, those are all very good. I have already used ELO for the song that tells a story and Vienna might have been too obvious. I haven't used 10cc yet so do I go for One Night In Paris or Tokyo? I think I'll pick the former.

10cc - Une Nuit A Paris

There's a few songs I could have gone for today (including one with TWO capital cities in the title, I wonder if anyone will pick that one!)

I know the one you mean too, and it did cross my mind. Perhaps if someone like Dan will return with a dance friendly choice and will put it out there! ;)

If it's the one I'm thinking of then there are two versions of that and a different city mentioned in each

April 23rd – A song you like by someone who went solo from a band

challenged by Linds.

Soloists unite! This day’s challenge, courtesy of our very own Linds. is all about finding songs by solo artists who were formerly in a band. This could be artists who continue to be attached to a band or ones who walked out and haven’t returned. I’m sure there are many choices to make, and as always, try to find unique artists for the day and songs not previously used during the event.

As a reminder, here is the Spotify Playlist which is updated daily with your nominations if you want to listen along;

Easily thinking of Louis Tomlinson. His song about his mother was a huge radio hit in Indonesia, though it was nowhere near the streaming charts.

Would've easily nominated Silver Tongues too, but I'll pick the ballad one after recent conversations during the BJSC listenthrough.

This I remember a lot from the time, very nostalgic. I like the synths and backing vocals especially

Figured to dodge using 'Feel' which is my overall fave by him so giving attention another of Robbie's lesser but still enduring tracks.

Possibly the ultimate solo artist from a band?

Diana Ross - I’m coming out

Going by sales it's Michael Jackson with 284M units, which is about 40M over Beyonce, who comes next for artists going solo. 3rd is Phil Collins with a paltry 101M

Day 23 - A song you like by someone who went solo from a band

Re-using an artist, as it's someone who in my opinion is one of the most underrated artists of all time. (Medevac also an amazing song).

This was also going to be a BJSC entry, but Sugababes have a forum so would have been vetoed!
