Yes my immediate thought was Charli, like this could be from her current era. This is my favourite debut solo from all of the girls, it's an instant clock for me

Video is fantastic! She just GETS it. I’m at work atm but I’m looking forward to rewatching it later to divulge into it more and see if there are things I didn’t notice.

 

The editing was great! It really looked like video clips of past Jade were singing this very song! :lol:

Anyone who’s from Shields will love the Colmans Fish and Chips promo right at the start :lol: she’s still so proud of her hometown which is lovely to see (at least one member is -_- ). The South Shields FC scarf too.

 

 

Love the video though, a bit bonkers but very her. I did love how it looked like past Jade was singing the song as well really clever editing. This is such a strong whole package. It seems Jades hit the clearest idea of who she is as Jade. I’ll also watch later to see if I can divulge things and work out certain meanings but this is like a genuinely very strong, smart debut from her.

I listened to the first 30 seconds and couldn't see any of the comparisons being mentioned as it sounded like a massive 80's throwback....

Three listens in and I'm really loving it. You can tell Jade has been brought up on the same diet of 00s pop that many of us on here were, and pays due respect to that, but very clearly has her finger on the pulse of current music.

 

The sample choice is wonderful, taking a kitsch 60s Eurovision winner and almost making the parts that riff off that into an 80s power production, but via the hyperpop sound of 2024. Amazing, I know it's been an uphill struggle for any British artist to do well this year so I don't know what will happen to this commercially but it deserves everything.

videos!! She is SUCH A STAR. I mean she has taken care of all aspects of the release. She deserves success!!
