Amazon

10. Artemas - "i like the way you kiss me"

22. Dasha - "Austin"

27. Sabrina Carpenter - "Espresso"

53. Perri - "Forget About Us"

68. SZA - "Saturn"

72. Dua Lipa - "Illusion" (+125)

96. Jax Jones & Cascada - "Never Be Lonely (Donk! Edit)"

168. Tyla, Gunna & Skillibeng - "Jump"

Two versions of "Illusion" appearing now. Should be comfortably top 40 combined I would think. Artemas finally top 10 on Amazon. A remix of the Jax Jones & Cascada version of "Never Be Lonely" appears to be doing something. Not sure if it will help its chances of going top 40 unfortunately.

I've not heard the song and won't until Friday so I can't comment on the song itself, but even without that, I don't get how it "didn't have a chance"...! Hozier's obviously doing big numbers but if there's anyone right now who could compete, it's Taylor.

I can't call how it'll go next week and I'm by no means saying Taylor's a shoo-in, but it's far too early to be so sure.

Cuz she won't do 1M everyday, no one will ever will with new songs. Anyway, I don't want to spoil the album to people who don't want that but if someone wants:

It's very Poppy. Not folklore or evermore in any way mid-pop, very Synth-dreamy, not really the biggest HIT album, but Fortnight actually isn't, MBOBHFT sounds like a bigger hit.

Badger needs culling

I remember this from the itunes chart back in 2014

Not paid a lot of attention to Spotify charts for the last week or so, did not realise that any of Lay Bankz, Badger or Chappell Roan had got so high already! A busy time for breakthrough artists/songs.

I've not been much of a fan of what I've heard from Chappell Roan before (to put it lightly) but I did just hear a clip of this new track from the Billboard Breakdown channel today and it sounds potentially quite good, detecting a bit of a Kate Bush vibe.

Aside: her sudden breakthrough has inspired me to finally look up how her name is meant to be pronounced and it turned out I was saying both of her names wrong in my head haha. (It's pronounced 'chapel rone', I previously read it as 'sha-pell rowan').

#that album leaked...

And Fortnight as good as it is, sadly is not a strong lead single material at all so it doesn't matter that it didn't have a chance before, but now...

How do you even know Fortnight is the lead?

How do you even know Fortnight is the lead?

Again - spoilers:

Her words game today, plus on AM is on their biggest playlist from tonight (grayed out)

But really, the album starts fine and gets STRONGER I mean really crazy lyrics and sound after song 6. The Florence duet is 4 minutes of chills.

Not really a fan of leaking music. Seems unnecessary when just a few days to release
Ooh if I'm not mistaken I think that's Slow It Down's first appearance in the Apple chart! Finally x

I feel like the label kind of hurt him getting another big hit as it seemed streaming services were split between "Cry" and "Slow It Down". The latter is still top 10 on Amazon (#7), but "Cry" has started rising there the last week (#15). If they fully push "Slow It Down" I think it should make the top 10 fairly easily post-Taylor. Then push "Cry" for another top 20/40 hit.

Is the Hozier track really as popular as 900k streams in a day or would it be fair to assume auto play has played a major part?

(Genuinely curious. I still don't think I've heard the track )

Taylor is so overexposrd, she is as big as overexposed Bieber was around what Do You Mean, as peopletend to listen to the same songs as everyone else. She will be no.1. Anythin else would be a disaster

It's a food track, bur I don't understans how people can relate to it so much foe it to have 900k listens! It's about him dribkin whiskey ans foin to bed at 3 and living hsrd, whilst his girlfriend is cleanlivinf.

Not often I wouldn't support a new debut providing some turnover at the top of the charts but I low-key hope Hozier blocks her tbh. Too Sweet IS that song for me right now.

Looks like Sabrina is on the brink of overtaking Artemas on Spotify. Not sure he'll get much further than his current peak position on the chart now which is a shame.
