April 19, 20242 yr Author  Future chart hit? Fontaines D.C. Starburster 1st single from Romance Released: 18th April 2024 Label: County Love Train Video KHocVRUlvkk Biography The very first words we hear on the first song on the first album from Fontaines D.C. are “Dublin in the rain is mine”—and with that line, from the underdog fight song “Big,” the group instantly seized the title of Ireland’s pre-eminent dark-skied post-punk poets. Their 2019 Mercury Prize-nominated debut, Dogrel, arrived in a crowded field of cantankerous indie bands from the British and Emerald Isles wielding jagged guitar riffs, bass-battered rhythms, and shouty sing-speak. But behind the Mark E. Smith-like bark of frontman Grian Chatten beat the heart of a true romantic enamored with his hometown’s local landmarks and working-class heritage, while singles like “Boys in the Better Land” and “Liberty Belle” counterbalance their withering social commentary with invigorating doses of, respectively, British Invasion-style garage rock and surf music. The follow-up, A Hero’s Death, arrived just a year later with Fontaines’ switchblade-edge intact, but also showcased a band moving beyond their signature rant ‘n’ roll to explore brooding balladry and more atmospheric production, en route to a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2024 00 Starburster -1- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 0 x Top 40 | 0 x Top 100 Social Media Fontaines D.C. http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
April 19, 20242 yr No one could get the whole top 5 these days you know. :P I know, that's why I corrected myself in the post above yours!
April 19, 20242 yr Go Dua :cheer: Extending her record of most Top 10 singles for UK Female Artist to staggering 16!!!:cheer: When will your faves!!!
April 19, 20242 yr 'Too Sweet' is my genre of music and I'm pleased for Hozier to get a big hit but I'm seeing it as a good but not amazing track. Not getting why this is stratospheric tbh - preferred 'Eat Your Young' tbh.
April 19, 20242 yr Go Dua :cheer: Extending her record of most Top 10 singles for UK Female Artist to staggering 16!!!:cheer: When will your faves!!! Incredible. Maybe she’ll release another one with the album and make it 17
April 19, 20242 yr Glad for a new peak for Artemas, shame it never quite made the top as it's great. Brilliant to see Hozier still on top. Despite mixed opinions of the songs it's also wonderful to have three brand new debuts by different artists in the top 10. If only we could see this more often.
April 19, 20242 yr New peaks and new entries outside the top 40: 41. Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy) (NEW) 46. D-Block Europe - Kiki (What Would Drizzy Say) (NEW) 49. Future & Metro Boomin - We Still Don't Trust You (NEW) 58. d4vd - Feel It (+1) 76. Floyymenor & Cris MJ - Gata Only (NEW) 94. Meekz - Mini Me's (NEW)
April 19, 20242 yr Agh so annoying for shaboozey. Hoping it climbs next week as it’s such an earworm, would’ve been cool to see it debut in the top 40 though
April 19, 20242 yr Incredible. Maybe she’ll release another one with the album and make it 17 I expect all three singles released so far to be the highest charting ones...maybe both Houdini and TS will reset as well!!!
April 20, 20242 yr Is Bryson Tiller actually saying "Dale Winton" in this song, or am I totally mishearing? Was quite baffled by this comment for a while but I think I figured out what you're referring to now  "I'ma take her bougie ass to Rodeo and then let her pick up whatever she want"
April 20, 20242 yr was reading now a very interesting interview with Hozier, he had both Eat Your Young and Too Sweat recorded but when planning the album he only could put 1 of them in the album cos the album is like based on some Dante story and the sins you know lust, greed, violence and Eat Your Young and Too Sweet are both about gluttony I think so he only wanted to put 1 on the album and he chose Eat Your Young cos he preferred over Too Sweat :o :)
April 20, 20242 yr And he wasn't wrong :kink: (I do like the chorus of 'Too Sweet' but the rest of it feels a bit pedestrian to me (much like 'Beautiful Things' funnily enough), nice to see him get such a big hit but far from his best work imo)
