Btw I really don't think Rishi’s seat is safe at all. If he loses 10% to reform he’s toast and I think he will lose more than that

I've got an SDP candidate in my seat

I still find it hard to believe that Sunak was stupid (and ill-advised) enough to bunk off from the D-Day commemorations. Cameron has excused him by saying he had an election campaign to fight. That just makes it even more obvious that he considers the election campaign to be more important than representing the country at a solemn ceremony. Besides, doesn't Starmer (who didn't bunk off) also have an election campaign to run?

DDay is mesnt to br ALL parties agreeing not to campaign lmao. The excuse makesit even worse. So slimy, just like Piggy Cameron's slime over the "no money left" joke.

No way Reform take any seats in North Yorkshire.

Tories have managed to field candidates in all but one seat. Presumably the Speakers? Unless there's another they aren't standing. Whocanivotefor is down so can't check.

Edit - it's Rotherham they aren't standing in.

Even with these polls, I expected at least 120-150 seats for the Conservatives, but the chances of less than 100 could really happen now after this D-Day business, what a monumental disaster! Pretty much a lesson in how to alienate every voter and I love that the reason he left was to fix the other cock-up he created by lying, creating an even bigger one in the process!

I don't think they were making that point, more that Reform taking away/splitting support from the Tories could potentially allow Labour to squeeze through the middle. Catterick Garrison is in Richmond (Rishi Sunak's constituency) and it's around 13000 of the electorate, one of the biggest military towns in the world I believe.

Some people have all the fun.

All the candidates in my constituency are already existing representatives in one form or other. As well as the sitting MP, two are MLA’s at Stormont, one is my local councillor, one is a councillor at a different council, and one is an Irish Senator.

Yeah exactly, Labour should win it with tactical voting if reform get some more Tory votes though that count binface idiot and some youtube said they're now standing there so the vote will be split further possibly saving Rishi

Whilst I am happy for this massive own goal by Rishi, it makes me sad to think we have someone in charge of the country who can't even do the bare minimum for something as important as the D-Day anniversary, particularly as it is the 80th one.

I really hope this causes further discourse within the conservative party and gives Reform/Labour/Lib Dems/Greens etc more ammo against the conservatives to make sure they get as few seats as possible.

Not sure I see people taking votes away in North Yorkshire from the Tories in the more rural areas. They're truly screwed if that happens.

I still don't think its out of the question that Farage switches over to the Tories and cannibalizes the party unfortunately
I think his presence does more harm than good at this point.

So Reform are standing 611 candidates and there's no deal with the Tories.

This is going to be a very tricky election for the Tories. For context they stood in just 275 seats in 2019 and most of the ones they didn't stand in were Tory held. They still managed 2% of the vote. With them currently polling in the mid-teens this could cost the Tories a large number of seats, they're unlikely to actually go to Reform with Labour and the Lib Dems benefitting in some places but it's certainly something to watch.

Candidates can still withdraw from the election next week. I wouldn’t completely rule out Reform doing that in some seats. I think it is unlikely, but not impossible.

I dont think some people understand the right at all. This election they despise the Tories more than Labour, they want to punish them and/or replace them

I wouldn't even rule out some Tories potentially aiding reform but it definitely won't be the other way around
