did they add Eurovision songs last year?
A shame to see far fewer Eurovision songs charting than last year but not unexpected for many of the reasons Rich already posted, still decent showings for Nemo and Baby Lasagna and hopefully a couple more that can make the top 100 too including Bambie Thug. Also pleased to see alyona/Jerry, Slimane and Angelina making it in, all of those were in my top 10 of this final too, so at least out of the handful that have shown up on Spotify I can get behind basically all of them!
Loreen & Käärijä were definitely added. Potentially Mae Muller too but I'm not sure.

 

Looking at the thread last year, Loreen and Mae were added to Hot Hits on Monday (15th) after the contest.

 

People in the thread were saying how Käärijä should be added, so not sure they were (unless it happened later)

A few pages later, gooddelta points out that Käärijä was added to it on May 19th ;)

Regardless of all the drama, I thought the quality of songs at Eurovision this year was extremely poor. Probably my least favourite edition.

Agreed. The performances definitely elevated a number of songs this year, but without that context, they don’t have the commercial appeal we got more of last year. Shame Olly is doing so badly on Spotify still.

Hopefully the Eurovision-esque Pedro by Jaxomy et al will make top 40 eventually to make up for the paucity of Eurovision tracks in the chart.

Terrible song, terrible performance, poorest tiniest vocals, justified 0 points from the tele vote

I would say all the EV songs are underperforming rather than it being just a Dizzy issue though. With the Code doing well cos' it won.

 

It feels like the contest was a bit muted this year in general and overall the song standard wasn't great. The last couple of years there has been way more interested - obviously helped by it being hosted by the UK.

 

I'm more surprised the Croatia song isn't doing better as it feels like it was more a Cha Cha moment... but maybe as there wasn't any crazy staging etc it hasn't stuck as much in viewers minds... but then viewership was way down anyway.

 

 

With last years being in the UK there was bound to have been more interest than this year.
Think my prediction that Post Morgan would go the way of Homesick wasn’t far off. Going from 1.1 million to 500k in 2 days :o

Nemo just going 14-16 is pretty good and the Netherlands song even climbing big
