That'll probably be my favorite top 10 of the year, I only voted for five but genuinely liked all ten, which for me is extremely rare. Elated that my 18 (Greenfroze) made the top 5, and 7th for my 15 (Botanikka), two massive bops! I was shocked to see 'Sweet Dreams' in the contest at all, still can't believe it was never a UK hit :o Daehun's comeback entry was even better than I hoped it'd be, was glad I didn't have to reboot the meme of them always being in my commiserations - just a shame they didn't vote and got the deduction. When I entered it I had Initi8 - Just Fine as a point of reference so I was expecting something like mid-to low Top 20 - definitely wasn’t expecting my biggest hit of the year! Thank you all! Congrats Rob (great song, nothing else was going to do it IMO) and New Lexicon who haven’t been that high in a long time I’m sure? Really was rooting for Jade as that’s probably one of my favourite entries in a little while, glad to see that 4th. The results were pretty expected Greenfroze aside, but definitely expected Sovarasma, POPHub and Cor Lupus higher! Amazing hosting Addy, beautiful graphics and theming as usual ♥️ PS. June 15, 20241 yr Not surprised at that winner, there was never anything else in my mind, not only because of the mainstream hype of Mette but the track is such a well produced earworm. Well done Rob, it was my favourite by a country mile in the final and my 18s don’t often win! Quite surprised by the semi result for it but once everyone was in the mix it was always going to fly. Bambie escaping the curse of sixth! I love Bambie of course too. Fresh out of a Eurovision smash, mass BuzzJack adoration (and a Buzzvision win) and a UK top 75 hit, I’d have left it a while before sending them here but kudos to Lex for striking while the iron is hot and getting over the veto line and scoring New Lexico’s biggest hit in a long time. It’s another great song. And fab to see Aeroche in the top three again! Quite an infectious summer track and not what I’d expect from Bauuer! My predictions were pretty on the nose for most songs or not too far out, so RontBet is happy to have not lost too much money this month. And I’m very happy with 11th, it’s pretty much both where I expected and where I stayed all night in the live results. The song is nothing extraordinary, just a strong, catchy pop song so I’m glad this rising Irish star was appreciated and I’m now waiting for her viral moment to emulate fellow Irish 11th placed Rontvian Hozier :D two points away from the top ten but I won’t begrudge Land of DW which was my easy second favourite, nice to see it in the top ten. June 15, 20241 yr Congrats Rob, making up for the miss in PFSC! I preferred Mama's Eyes and can't really remember this one much but I'm clearly out of touch with the winners this year so don't mind me x Shame Jadakissnia fell to 4th right at the end (curse of my 15 two months in a row clearly), but that's still a great showing and that runner up is wonderful *.* May not be a unique position, but I'm really happy with 8th. I really wasn't expecting this, I love the song but it was definitely a grower and I was unsure if it would be lost in the pack, but I'm very pleased to be proved wrong and get votes from such a wide spectrum of music tastes, 2nd in the semi too! Thank you for all the voters, their EP's out now if you're into this dreamy, shoegaze/synthwave-esque sound (reminder for myself to listen more than anything x) Not a lot of other favourites in the top 10, but that 11-15 section is amazing <3 Certainly don't all sound like hits so pleased to see some good showings. The only one I'd have liked a bit higher is Eledan, but it's amazing that got to the final in the first place. It really caught me off guard in the listenthrough.
